Our alcohol and drug addiction treatment programs are carefully customized and tailored to the specific needs of each individual. Our expert team of addiction specialists has been helping people achieve sobriety and live fuller, more meaningful lives for more than forty years. We can help you too.
Areas of Specialization
Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.
Process Abuse Treatment
Not all addictions involve mood-altering chemicals. The term “process addiction” describes the unhealthy use of behaviors (including eating, gambling, sexual activity, shopping, internet use, etc.) that has spiraled out of control and into the realm of addiction.
Client & Family Support Groups
Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.
Creative Arts Therapy
Writing, making art or engaging in theater can be deeply therapeutic for people working to recover from addiction. Many facilities offer one or several forms of creative arts therapy as a way to help patients learn to express their feelings in productive ways.
AHE has had a profound effect upon my life. I have a great deal of gratitude for all you have done for me.
AH&E was a wonderful and fulfilling experience, I found receiving recovery treatment to be thorough and extremely helpful towards a future in sobriety.
Such a great program! Have nothing but positive things to say about my experience and would recommend it to anyone who wants to help themselves or a loved one.
I consider myself lucky to have had an experience like I had at AHE.

ABOUT ADVANCED HEALTH & EDUCATION
Located in the community of Eatontown, N.J., 50 miles south of New York City, Advanced Health & Education provides residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for adults and adolescents struggling with a mental health disorder and/or co-occurring addiction disorder. One of six facilities operated by Sprout Health Group, which also includes Cedar Point Recovery in Sacramento, Calif., Advanced Health & Education offers detoxification services on-site as well as a specialized program track for professionals.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Before admission, prospective clients participate in an initial phone assessment to help clinicians determine an appropriate, individualized treatment program. This determination is based on substance abuse history, the severity of current use, and family history.
The program primarily consists of one-on-one, group, and family counseling sessions. Therapies may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, as well as outdoor therapy. Advanced Health & Education also incorporates a range of alternative therapies into programming. These treatments include yoga, guided meditation, and exercise classes.
Advanced Health & Education offers three types of outpatient care either as aftercare treatment or a less intensive recovery track, most of which consist of six to eight hours per day of counseling in group and individual settings. Outpatient programs are held in the evenings, after work or school, to accommodate clients’ schedules.
Under the direction of a clinical director, Advanced Health & Education’s programs are facilitated by a team of master’s level counselors, certified drug and alcohol counselors, case managers, an assessment specialist, nurses, nutritionists, and an alumni coordinator. The facility offers an intimate staff-to-client ratio of 3:1.
