Treatment Center Setting
Any Length Retreat Philosophy
The Any Length Retreat is located just north of Austin Texas on 5 acres. Any Length is an affordable alternative to recovery centers. We have a non-clinical model that empowers men who have not had success in staying sober on their power or have tried countless other methods to achieve recovery and have failed to remain abstinent. The Any Length Retreat is not a substitute for medical, psychotherapy, and clinical treatment nor do we offer any clinical or psychiatric services. We cater to men who are willing to believe that they are alcoholic/addict and take the necessary actions to recover, live sober, and become productive members of society.
Areas of Specialization
Client & Family Support Group
Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.
Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.
The term “12 Step Program” describes a way to recover from addiction that is based on the model developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. Many drug and alcohol treatment centers base their treatment on 12 steps – the first three of which are situational, the next four addressing the practical issues created by the addiction, followed by two steps focused on making amends for hurting others. Steps 10 and 11 involve a deeper examination of the previous steps and the final step is focused on helping others avoid and recover from addiction.
Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.
I came into Any Length Retreat broken and seemingly hopeless. I was coming off a relapse after attaining 16 months of sobriety. I was back at square one. The amazing program that ALR offers along with the care and guidance of Sam and the rest of the staff has brought me to a place of peace and happiness I didn't believe was attainable on arrival. They challenged me to look outside my preconceived ideas of alcoholism and recovery, pushed me outside my comfort zone, and helped me grow as a man in recovery and all aspects of life. I am eternally grateful for ALR and I HIGHLY recommend this establishment for anyone struggling with this disease.
I honestly don't think words can express the gratitude I have for the Any Lengths organization. When I arrived at one of their three houses I was welcomed with open arms and strict expectations which is something I needed in my life. The facility and sober houses are based around a highly structured and effective model which gives every one of its residents the highest chance of success. I have been fortunate enough to travel the country and be apart of many different modalities of recovory. What make Any Lengths different from other places is the fact that they cut out the fluff and model themselves in the way the program of recovery was originally intended. If you or a family member are suffering from addiction, I would highly recommend reaching out to the folks at the Any Lengths retreat. It's the most affordable treatment option with the best recovery model I have ever seen or been apart of. I would like to extend a special thanks to Sam, Robert, Jordan, Hank and Mark for helping me get the tools I needed to live a happy and productive life. This place will always hold a special place in my heart.
Any lengths has given me the tools I need to live as a happy sober man. It has brought me the accountability I needed to live a peaceful and joyous free life.
Any Lengths is an amazing sober community. It gave me the structure I needed in early sobriety to grow spiritually.
I went to one of Any Length's houses right after spending 90 days in residential treatment. I was terrified upon arrival, as this was my first time trying to get sober, in a town I'd never been in, with people I'd never met. However, my fears quickly vanished. With the help of my house manager, the men living in the house, and, of course, God, I was able to learn how to live life as a functioning human. They taught me how to be disciplined in my day to day activities, but also how to have fun and enjoy sobriety. Easily the best sober living home in Austin.
Beautiful facility and amazing staff! If you, or anyone you know, struggles with drug addiction or alcoholism, this is the place to go!!
Any Length- does exactly what their title says they do- go to any length to help individuals recover from addiction and transition into a lifestyle free of the chains of drugs and substances. At every level of staff from CEO down to the director to general night staff, there is someone who has been through addiction and can help you learn how to reach sobriety. Without ALR I would still be living in a vicious cycle. Whether you are dealing with drugs, alcohol, or even something such as overeating, making a decision to get away from the world and get to the ANY LENGTH RETREAT is extremely beneficial.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To gain admission to Any Length, potential clients must be sober, drug-free, and able to remain abstinent as well as psychologically and medically stable. Any Length’s treatment philosophy emphasizes regaining mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. The website emphasizes the belief that clients’ addictions are not their problems but solutions to deeper problems they have, and solving those problems leads to addiction recovery.
Any Length Retreat’s retreats are based on the 12-Steps and last two, four, or eight weeks. During their stay, clients engage in individual and group support sessions and build community with fellow clients and the larger community. The two-week program, named “vicious cycle,” is an intensive program to help clients identify what’s blocking their recovery. The four-week program, “Roots and Branch,” looks at the reasons why clients partake in substance abuse. The eight-week program, “Road to Reconstruction,” helps clients discover problems within themselves besides their substance abuse, although it is not a substitute for clinical treatment.
After completing a retreat, clients may enter Any Length’s recovery residence, which requires a commitment of 120 days but on average lasts four to six months. Clients continue undergoing the 12-steps model of treatment and begin following a schedule with activities including morning prayer and meditation, a weekly book study and house meetings, and independent living skills such as chores and time management. Clients are also encouraged to enroll in school, work full-time, and/or volunteer in the community.
After completing the recovery residence, clients may enter Any Length’s Graduate House, although sparse details are given on how the Graduate House program differs from programs prior to it.
Any Length’s founder is a Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) and Advance Relapse Prevention Specialist. Another staff employee is also PRSS-certified. Any Length’s website states that staff have recovered from addiction themselves. The 13 individuals polled to date by Rehabs.com rated the staff’s level of training and experience an average 4.8 out of five stars.
