Clean Adventures Philosophy
Clean Adventures has a visionary approach to provide the best treatment possible in a safe environment utilizing the 12 steps, a full time clinical staff and an extensive Adventure based program to develop a life of recovery.
Areas of Specialization
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a highly specific, research-validated form of therapy that can help people overcome traumatic stress, anxiety and depression. With EMDR, a trained practitioner uses bilateral stimulation, eye movement and touch to stimulate parts of the brain as a patient recounts certain experiences and memories as a way to more thoroughly process uncomfortable, painful feelings.
This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.

ABOUT CLEAN ADVENTURES
Located in the picturesque Arizona city of Prescott, Clean Adventures is a long-term substance abuse treatment facility for adult men. The facility follows the Florida model, where clients live on-site while attending treatment at another location. Programs are six months long and designed to be particularly effective for clients who have a history of relapse. Co-occurring psychological disorders, such as anxiety and depression, are also treated, however detox services are not offered on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The program at Clean Adventures is highly structured. Clients spend about 10 hours a week in process groups and are treated using a variety of modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavioral therapy, and trauma resolution. Clients have individual counseling sessions once a week, attend AA and/or NA meetings daily, and are given the opportunity to participate in 12-step workshops and conferences. Random alcohol and drug screenings are performed weekly.
Experiential and recreational therapies play a key role in treatment as well. Adventure activities include skiing and snowboarding, weekend hikes, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting.
Clean Adventures also encourages loved ones to become involved in the treatment process and offers a two-day family program that includes education, communication training, experiential therapy, family sculpting, and family networking.
According to the facility’s website, the staff is made up of licensed therapists, administrators, house managers, and a behavioral health tech, many of whom have struggled with addiction themselves. The facility has a staff-to-client ratio of 1:2.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Clean Adventures has 27 beds, and clients live in comfortable communal homes that are furnished with washer/dryers, TVs, and other modern appliances. Residents are also assigned chores and must work together to maintain the integrity of their living environment.
