Harbor Village Philosophy
Harbor Village believes that everyone is entitled to quality substance abuse treatment, regardless of background or circumstance. To this end, the drug and alcohol detox and rehab facility offers affordable, compassionate care that’s customized to each individual. With comfort as a top priority, each client is provided with a customized, medically assisted recovery regime that’s tailored specifically to his or her level of addiction.
Areas of Specialization
Dual Diagnosis/Co-occurring Disorders Treatment
These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
Process Abuse Treatment
Not all addictions involve mood-altering chemicals. The term “process addiction” describes the unhealthy use of behaviors (including eating, gambling, sexual activity, shopping, internet use, etc.) that has spiraled out of control and into the realm of addiction.
Trauma & Associative Awareness Therapy (AAT)
Associative Awareness Therapy (AAT) uses the brain’s innate ability to adapt to change in a healing way, essentially “retraining” the brain to respond differently to familiar memories of trauma or pain.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
The focus of cognitive behavioral therapy (also called CBT) is helping people to understand the thoughts and emotions that underlie their addiction with the goal of learning new, healthier and more productive ways to understand and express themselves.
Everything I've been able to achieve now, I owe to Harbor Village. They taught me how to live again. I can never repay what they've done for me.
Harbor Village has saved my life. I love the entire staff, every one of them was an active part of my recovery, and I couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out!
I have two sons that were at Harbor Village for detox. My one son was stressing about going through withdrawals again, so he was reluctant to go anywhere to detox. I spoke to Chris NOT once, NOT twice, NOT even Three times- honestly I can't remember how many times Chris would answer my call or text, it didn't matter if it was at 11 pm or a Sunday morning. He would send my son a text letting him know they were waiting and it would be OK I can't believe how Great this detox center is!
I loved Harbor Village it definitely changed my life for the best I would recommend it to anyone who has hit rock bottom amazing staff that really cares...
Harbor Village has helped me overcome my addiction entirely. I am a brand new person, and I wouldn't have been able to get here on my own! Thank you!
The only reason why I'm okay today, is because of Harbor Village. They went above and beyond for me, unlike any other treatment center I've been to. This time, I know I won't need another.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Harbor Village follows the disease concept of addiction and aims to get to the root causes of problematic substance use. It emphasizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and relapse prevention training, and offers gender-specific groups and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Clients are welcome to participate in 12-step programming, though this is not the foundation of treatment.
Individual and group therapy begin during detox, and continue during residential treatment, which generally lasts 30 to 90 days. Outpatient clients attend three to five days a week, depending on their level of need.
According to the facility’s website, staff includes psychiatrists, psychologists, and licensed therapists, and there’s a medical team on-site 24/7. The chief medical officer has a B.A. in nursing and 20 years of experience in the field, and several staff members are in recovery themselves.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Of the 62 reviews received by Rehabs.com to date, 53 were very positive, and the remainder were very negative. Many reviewers wrote that they had been to other rehab facilities and found Harbor Village to be by far the best. Alumni reports were often very similar, repeatedly praising the “fun activities” they enjoyed at the center as well as the comfort of the resort-like facility. “The facility feels less like a rehab center and more like a resort. Everything at the facilities defines luxury and comfort,” one anonymous reviewer wrote. “They actually managed to make detox fun. Harbor village is simply a great place to be. A lot of fun activities, great food,” Gallagher added. Reviewers also praised the center’s group therapy, its well-designed program, and the social element of life at Harbor Village, saying they made lasting friends and that the facility’s staff stayed in contact with them long after treatment. “They made me feel welcomed and accepted,” Capricorn wrote.
Nine reviewers, however, strongly disagreed with these appraisals, repeatedly criticizing the food, the level of cleanliness, the treatment they received from staff, and the overall level of organization. “Treatment stunk… They treated us as children on the over 30 side,” T.C. wrote. Another alum, Mike, added: “The food was horrible, not gourmet at all..3 people to a room wich are dirty, the nurses could care less about the patients,it's a paycheck to them, the case managers were horrible, that's if u could find them and they didn't ignore you.”
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Of the two reviews submitted to Rehabs.com to date, one was very positive, and the other was very negative. Sonya wrote that the cost was very reasonable, and added that Harbor was “surely the best of its kind,” but Elliott told Rehabs.com: “Harbor village is an awful place with nearly no structure or know how when it comes to running a legitimate treatment center.”
Treatments costs $25,000 a month, and the facility is in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Coventry, Coventry, Medical Mutual, and United.
