ABOUT JACKSON RECOVERY CENTERS - CHILD & ADOLESCENT RECOVERY CENTER
Jackson Recovery Centers is a Iowa-based behavioral health treatment provider, offering a variety of addiction and mental health treatment services Located in Sioux City, Iowa, set in the tranquil Loess Hills Prairie Corridor, the organization’s Child and Adolescent Recovery Center provides residential and outpatient treatment for adolescents (ages 12 to 18) struggling with chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health difficulties. If necessary, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification services are available through the facility’s 12-bed Adolescent Stabilization Unit.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Upon admission, clients may participate in an initial behavioral and mental health assessment to guide clinicians in forming an individualized treatment plan. Utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment practices, the recovery center’s Adolescent Inpatient Unit offers individual counseling, family therapy, and gender-specific group therapy, as well on-site psychiatric and medical care. If necessary, the facility provides ongoing medication management to address psychiatric symptoms of a dual diagnosis.
Along with treatment programming, clients attend a fully accredited school on-site, as well as participate in a range of therapeutic recreation activities. Dependent on the needs of each teen, the length of residential treatment varies, though most residential programs last between 90 to 120 days. An extended-care residential program, called Chad’s House, is offered for adolescent males who require additional residential programming.
Outpatient services include weekly group and one-on-one therapy, multi-family counseling sessions, regular drug and alcohol testing, and medication management. There’s also a three-session “Teen Intervene” program that’s designed to help adolescents and parents establish healthy family guidelines, discuss peer pressure, develop coping skills, and become educated about alcoholism and drug addiction. Focusing on relapse prevention, continuing care services are also available to program alumni.
In addition to an on-site medical staff, the center’s treatment team includes psychiatric nurse practitioners, licensed independent social workers (LISW), certified alcohol and drug counselors (CADC), and a psychiatrist who specialize in children and adolescents.
