ABOUT JOSHUA CENTER- MANSFIElD

A part of Natchaug Hospital network, the Joshua Center programs, available at seven different locations in Connecticut, provide outpatient services for children and adolescents ages six to 17 years old who are struggling with substance abuse and/or psychiatric issues. As part of the main hospital, the Mansfield location offers a partial hospitalization (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP).

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Both the PHP and IOP provide three to four hours of treatment per day for up to five days per week. Treatment plans typically last six months and include individual, group, and family therapy, as well as medication management, psychoeducation, and occupational and creative rehabilitation therapy. Aftercare planning is also provided for youth. School-age clients are provided with transportation from school to the hospital and home.

Adolescents in treatment for substance abuse participate in the The Seven Challenges Program, an evidence-based modality designed specifically for teens. This program uses a group therapy approach to guide youth to make healthy decisions.

The treatment was excellent, but the place was a dump

Official Facility Response

It was her first attempt to ask for help and they were more interested in her husbands family. They had no interest in helping her find out why she was so unhappy and hurting herself.

The facility really helped, there were a lot of options for treatment, such as group therapy, individual therapy, etc. The visiting policies were a little bad. When my sister was here they wouldn't allow us to visit very often.

Strengths: Transportation, experience. Weaknesses: Many people there on court order and not involved for self betterment. As long as you are serious about self betterment and recovery this place is perfect
