ABOUT OMAHA CAMPUS FOR HOPE

As part of the nonprofit organization Catholic Charities, the Omaha Campus for Hope in Omaha, Neb. provides a spectrum of services for adults, both men and women, with specialized care for those who have been marginalized by society. According to their website, the facility admits up to 4,000 clients per year for chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. Services offered at this location include 24-hour emergency detoxification and short and long-term residential treatment at four different levels, with one level specific to men. This organization has three other locations in and around Omaha that provide addiction and recovery services, including one that serves adolescents.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Utilizing a client-focused philosophy, treatment programs are highly structured and include group and individual counseling. Although primary programming does not include the 12-step recovery model, clients are encouraged to participate in a self-help fellowship as an adjunct therapy. The long-term (average of one year) residential program for men and women includes thirty hours a week of treatment and monitoring programming.

The Omaha Campus for Hope’s Family Resiliency workshops also provide addiction education and support to loved ones. Upon completion of the facility’s residential program, clients may take advantage of the organization’s support services, including skills training programs and referrals to community-based services.

Three Rehabs.com reviews from loved ones and alumni at the time of this writing indicate treatment is somewhat bare-bones. The three reviewers gave this facility two two out of five star and one four out of five star ratings for counseling options.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The facility’s multidisciplinary team includes licensed social workers, licensed therapists, registered nurses, and licensed drug and alcohol counselors.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Information on accommodations and amenities is not provided on the facility’s website. However, four reviews to Rehabs.com by loved ones and alumni gave this facility an average rating of four out of five stars for accomodations.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The two alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave positive reviews for this facility. They praised the center’s counselor experience and staff support. In regards to staff, alum Dianne wrote: “The staff at this facility genuinely cares about the individual in need and often go above and beyond their job descriptions to help others.”

Another alum appreciated the center’s regimented, straightforward approach. Former client Tori told Rehabs.com: “The Short Term Treatment program was very structured and strict. This was exactly what I needed at the time. They did not allow for a lot of outside communication. This allowed me to focus on myself and prepare for the real world.”

In addition to these alumni reviews, representative reviews on Google and Facebook are positive overall. On Google Reviews, where the facility has received two reviews to date, an alum named David gave the facility five out of five stars and commented “changed my life.”[1] On the facility’s Facebook page, where it has received 17 reviews to date, Dennis wrote that because of treatment at this facility he has “18 months clean and sober on October 7 2015.” [2]

FINANCING

Campus of Hope prides itself on being an affordable option for treatment and serving all regardless of socioeconomic status. Rehabs.com reviews from two loved ones indicate this as well with a 4.5 out of 5 star rating for affordability. This facility is state-funded and is the state’s largest inpatient addiction treatment facility.

Strengths: Dual capable facility. Excellent quality of mental health professionals in addition to recovering counselors. Weaknesses: Funded by the state so dicted by stringent guidelines for financial compliance. The staff at this facility genuinely care about the individual in need and often go above and beyond their job descriptions to help others.

It is a very short in house treatment facility not long enough to keep the patient sober after treatment. Group sessions were a strength of the facility, but a weakness was a lack of competent counselors.

Focused on self accountability for success or failure and they provide you with all the tools to do either, if you fail, you did not use all the tools available to you. The only weakness I saw was not really a flaw, but a preference. When you are withdrawing from drugs, I feel caffeine is a vice, but not an addiction and they would not allow caffeinated products in facility. They took in my son, who has now been clean and sober for 120 days! The first time in over 20 years he has stayed clean and on the right path. They teach them skills to cope, they are blunt with the patients and make them look at who is responsible for their addiction and who is the one that can end it. (only themselves) They were strict and structured and helped him in every way they could. He has never succeeded before ad has tried, this place works! I have referred others there and will continue to do so. I wasn't there 24/7, but whatever they are doing...it works!
