Rock Solid Recovery for Men a Sure Haven Program Philosophy
Distraction free recovery in a nurturing home like setting for men only. There is much more to recovery than Detoxification and Residential Treatment Care. At Rock Solid, we provide a comprehensive approach that includes our Family Program and Continuing Care Curriculum.
Areas of Specialization
Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.
Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Patients who undergo intensive outpatient treatment continue to live at home and sometimes go to school or work while participating in a highly structured treatment protocol that is focused on ending substance abuse. Programs vary in terms of how much treatment patients receive, how often and for how long. Some facilities design individualized intensive outpatient treatment programs.

ABOUT ROCK SOLID RECOVERY
Located in sunny, suburban Southern California, Rock Solid Recovery offers medically monitored detox plus residential and outpatient treatment for adult men struggling with substance abuse, sex and love addictions, and dual diagnoses.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
All programs are rooted in the 12-Steps and aim to help clients through a spiritual awakening and growth as well as provide life skills and educational opportunities. The minimum stay is 30 days, but 60- and 90-day programs are also available.
In residential treatment, clients work with assigned case managers and therapists to put together an individualized treatment plan. All clients participate in individual and group therapy and educational sessions, which cover topics such as relapse prevention, communication skills, relationships, and meditation/relaxation. Residents also attend two off-site 12-step meetings a day. In the family recovery program, loved ones can receive education and schedule individual sessions with the client’s therapist. And for those whose addiction brought them legal troubles, counsel is offered.
The physical component of addiction is treated through nutrition education and access to the gym, group fitness classes, and outdoor activities. More unusual offerings include hiking expeditions lasting two to three days.
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is offered as step-down care for those graduating from the residential program. It focuses on academics, volunteering, and employment, and uses SMART Recovery and experiential therapies such as art therapy. The next stage of care is an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which is followed by a year’s worth of continuing care programming.
According to the facility’s website, the treatment team includes certified addiction counselors (many of whom are in recovery themselves), a marriage and family therapist intern, and a licensed clinical professional counselor. Although the facility’s website notes that detoxing clients may only proceed to residential treatment once cleared by their physician, there do not appear to be any medical professionals on staff.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
According to the facility’s website, the home-style residential facilities are designed to maximize the benefits of communal living, and offer swimming pools, backyards, Internet access, multiple bathrooms, and three meals a day.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
At the time of this writing, Rehabs.com has received nine reviews from alumni of this facility, of which five were positive and four were negative. Praise for the facility tended to be quite general. “Awesome place to get a foot in the door to recovery,” W.R. wrote, and several other reviewers noted that they would recommend the facility.
Alum C.H. told Rehabs.com that “there are a few staff who care,” but added that those in higher positions were less caring, and that they felt the center was understaffed. Among other negative reviews, there was a recurring complaint about dishonesty, or discrepancies between promised and real provisions. “They promised no out of pocket expenses, that's a lie!!... You sit around the houses a lot waiting on a class and a lot of the time the classes were cancelled,” David wrote. F.K. added: “These people are not professional at all! They lie to you right and left!”
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Of the three reviews submitted to Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, one was positive, one was negative, and one was somewhere in between.
Cathy, a mother of a client, told Rehabs.com: “I couldn’t be happier… I could call his counselor/therapist at any time for support.” But M.B. wrote: “It wasn't supportive when my child had problems and needed more help. They are worried about the financial bottom line as opposed to help and long term recovery.” The last reviewer, L.K., gave the facility’s treatment effectiveness a rating of three out of five stars and noted that it does not concentrate on dual diagnosis.
The facility’s website implies that insurance is accepted, but does not give coverage specifics.
