Southwest Sober Living Philosophy
Tucked away in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson, Arizona, Southwest Sober Living provides a safe and supportive living environment for men just coming out of an inpatient drug and alcohol rehab. Residents continue to receive treatment and live in a structured setting while they begin to take steps back into everyday life. The facility works closely with each client to develop a program for extended care that is comprehensive, individualized, and allows for the smoothest possible transition back into “real life.”
Areas of Specialization
Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.
Dual Diagnosis/ Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment
These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.

The facility provides transitional care in a regulated setting, designed to prepare clients to return to life in their home communities. Detox services are not available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Residents are required to stay for at least one month. Programs are tailored to suit the client’s individuals needs and maintain the foundations of sobriety achieved during residential treatment. Southwest Sober Living intends to support clients in setting personal and professional goals for the future — and get to work on achieving them.
All clients are subject to drug and alcohol testing and must attend house meetings at least three times a week. There’s also a focus on life planning, goal setting, personal growth, and accountability. Individuals support one another — peer assistance is an important part of the package – as they continue to heal in a safe, structured environment. Each client leaves with an individualized exit plan to help him transition back into society and avoid relapse.
Optional services available on request include transportation, personal financial management, academic counseling, life coaching, individual psychotherapy, behavioral modification, sober escort and companion services, as well as résumé and job placement services.
