Sunspire Health The Rosebriar Philosophy
Sunspire Health The Rosebriar is a licensed residential treatment facility for women with substance abuse and chemical dependency who may have co-occurring mental health disorders. We use abstinence, evidence and holistic-based treatment with the highest level of quality of clinical care in an intimate, tranquil setting in the quaint town of Astoria, OR. Here women are given the opportunity to explore the triggers and underlying causes of their addiction in order to overcome them and understand their role in the addiction. Our interdisciplinary approach to treatment forms a solid foundation on which women can build healthy, new lives in recovery with a built-in support network made up of family and fellow alumni.
Areas of Specialization
Adventure-Based Therapy in the Pacific Northwest
Given its located on in the Pacific northwest, right on the coast of the Columbia river and a stone’s throw from several nature reserves, Sunspire Health Astoria Pointe incorporates the pacifying, detoxifying qualities of nature through adventure-based therapy in the great outdoors like hiking to a local waterfall or doing groups on the beach in order to heal patients physically, mentally and spiritually.
Healing the Family System
At Sunspire Health The Rosebriar staff understand that a major part of setting a patient up for a successful recovery is treating the family as well. If a patient completes treatment successfully but returns to a family system that is broken, it can undo all of the hard work that has been devoted to healing. The key at The Rosebriar is to heal the family system to increase the patient’s chance of achieving long-term recovery.
Because The Rosebriar is a female-only facility, the treatment is focused on the unique issues that face women in addiction and recovery. A gender-specific treatment facility can promote a safe environment for patients who may find it easier to open up to and bond with their peers who face similar struggles during addiction. Clinical staff is experienced in treating women and catering to their recovery requirements.
Detox is often the first level of a treatment plan. This period of no drug use is important for the patient to reach a stable state of mind and body to begin addiction treatment. Our clinical staff will guide and support the patient throughout the entire process.
During residential treatment patients live onsite in housing with access to care from clinical staff 24/7. Patients have a full schedule of individual and group therapies according to their unique treatment plan, preparing them for life in recovery.
To transition from residential treatment to life in recovery, patients go through a progression of care until reaching IOP. Patients will receive ongoing care at the Palm Desert IOP while living in sober housing to adjust to every day life after treatment.
Throughout treatment patients will work with a Discharge Planner and the clinical team develop a comprehensive aftercare plan that will ensure a successful transition from residential treatment to a life in recovery. All patients who receive care at Sunspire Health will join our nationwide alumni network, giving them access to a support group after treatment.
At every Sunspire Health facility patients will receive treatment that is individualized to their unique needs and diverse lifestyles. Ongoing assessments allow the treatment to adapt and evolve as the patient progresses.
CRAFT teaches family and friends effective strategies for helping their loved one to change and for feeling better themselves. CRAFT works to affect the loved one’s behavior by changing the way the family interacts with him or her.
Sunspire Health utilizes evidence-based treatment methods, meaning that the treatment modalities and therapies are based on clinical evidence and proven success in guiding patients to heal and recover. Patients who would benefit from Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) will receive medications that are proven to aid patients in achieving sobriety.
In addition to individual and group therapies that are based in psychotherapy methods like CBT and DBT, patients will learn to apply new coping skills through experiential therapies like meditative hikes, yoga, fitness programs, nutrition education, and recreation activities that show patients how to find hope and how to prosper in recovery.
