Always fostering healing and hope, the facility welcomes spouses and life partners into the process and is committed to giving clients the opportunity to live a life free of sexual compulsions.
Areas of Specialization
Sexual addiction and co-occurring substance abuse disorders can profoundly impact the families of those struggling with addiction. The Ranch therefore offers a three-day family program for the spouses and partners of those working to overcome addiction, featuring services such as addiction education, counseling, and equine therapy.
At The Ranch, clients are encouraged to attend specialized onsite support groups that operate under the principles of the 12 Steps of Recovery. Clients may choose to participate in 12-Step services remotely using electronic media such as Skype, telephone, or internet chat platforms.

ABOUT THE RANCH SEXUAL RECOVERY
One of the few facilities in the country that focuses exclusively on love and sex addiction, The Center for Relationship and Sexual Recovery (“The Center”) is a part of The Ranch recovery complex located in Nunnelly, Tenn. The facility is situated on 2,000 acres of rolling hills, offering a serene, natural landscape for reflection and recovery. Programming is residential and combines trauma-informed therapy with experiential and holistic modalities. In addition to treating addiction to sex, love, and pornography, The Center’s staff is equipped to address co-occurring issues including substance abuse and disordered eating.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment, housing, and recreation are completely gender-separate and gender-specific, as the core patterns behind sex addiction for men and women vary vastly. Clients participate in trauma-focused therapy with a trained specialist and attend group counseling sessions and 12-step meetings. The Center’s experiential and holistic offerings are numerous and include adventure therapy, equine therapy, hypnotherapy, sweat lodge ceremonies, and more.
In addition to the residential program for individuals, The Center offers a three-day workshop for partners and spouses of clients. The psychoeducational and experiential activities on offer are designed to help participants explore relationship boundaries, develop communication skills, and rebuild trust and connection.
The program was developed by a licensed clinical social worker and certified sex addiction therapist. Members of the clinical and medical teams include licensed social workers, master’s level therapists, certified sex addiction therapist, nutritionists, holistic wellness practitioners, physicians, and nurses.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The Ranch has a number of homes, many of which border the Piney River. Facilities range from Southern mansions to Cape Cod-style homes with pitched roofs and dormer windows. Each residence offers comfortably furnished communal areas, and some also have classic Southern front porches. The facility is equipped with horse stables, and there is a small fitness center on-site.
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from this facility’s alumni, affiliated friends or family members, or staff, but the only Yelp reviewer at the time of this writing shared a concerning story in her one-star review. She wrote about attending a family workshop while her husband received treatment: “We were IMMEDIATELY brought, with no introduction or orientation to a GROUP CIRCLE of 12 newly recovering MALE sex addicts who all knew each other and made us feel like raw meat…So traumatic to need support and to be used by the Ranch to help ‘these guys understand how their wives might feel.’” In addition to insensitive and unprofessional therapy practices, this one reviewer reported a lack of training among staff and issues related to insurance.
According to the facility’s website, The Ranch accepts most major PPO insurance plans. Estimates for treatment costs are provided following a confidential phone consultation.
