Areas of Specialization
Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Patients who undergo intensive outpatient treatment continue to live at home and sometimes go to school or work while participating in a highly structured treatment protocol that is focused on ending substance abuse. Programs vary in terms of how much treatment patients receive, how often and for how long. Some facilities design individualized intensive outpatient treatment programs.
Addiction recovery does not end with discharge after completing a rehab program. Facilities that offer aftercare planning and/or support work with patients to ensure sustainable recovery by helping to plan and make arrangements for transitional or sober living, help with housing, vocational counseling, etc.

ABOUT THE RECOVERY VILLAGE AT RIDGEFIELD
Located about 20 minutes north of Vancouver, Wash., The Recovery Village at Ridgefield (TRV) is a drug rehab facility that serves adults in Portland, Vancouver, and throughout the Pacific Northwest. Intimate, 12-step based recovery treatment is available in residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), or intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. Detox is also available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The residential treatment program primarily consists of individual and group therapy sessions in an intimate, structured setting. While in treatment, clients are given the opportunity to practice their newly-developed stress and anger management coping skills with one another. Clients also have access to holistic and alternative classes and activities including recreational therapy, yoga, meditation, exercise, as well as music, dance, and art therapy.
The PHP track is designed for adults who still require daily, intensive treatment, yet at a lower level of supervision. Here, clients participate for 18 to 20 hours weekly and receive an introductory education to 12-step principles and partake in therapy sessions designed to address issues such as substance abuse, sexuality, and trauma survival. On a weekly basis, PHP clients also meet with an assigned physician to discuss and review progress made vis-à-vis treatment goals.
Lastly, clients transitioning from either residential or PHP care may benefit from IOP sessions, of which clients are required to participate in nine to 11 hours weekly. Clients receive medication management as well as similar treatments as received in residential and PHP.
Length of treatment is determined by treatment staff and insurance providers but typically lasts about one month. Aftercare plans may include sober living arrangements, in which clients are assigned house responsibilities. Successful graduates are also supported when looking for work or going back to school.
The facility’s treatment team consists of doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, counselors, and therapists. According to its website, TRV is a “program for addicts designed by recovering addicts.” The program also maintains that it keeps a low client-to-staff ratio.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Up to 64 clients are housed in the facility’s luxurious, gender-specific, hotel-like rooms that feature plush beds, a private bathroom, and natural sunlight.

While Rehabs.com has not yet received any feedback from this facility’s former clients, friends, family members, and staff members, reviewers who posted elsewhere online mostly reported positive experiences.
On Google, the facility has earned 3.6 out of five stars based on five ratings to date. Carrie thought treatment was “Exceptional,” and Bre, who claimed to be “a professional in the field” wrote: “I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff, clinical programming, and comfortable living quarters for those struggling with substance abuse.”
The facility’s Facebook page also has five ratings, which it can manage, but they average a slightly higher 4.2 out of five stars. The only one to leave a comment was Jennifer, though, whose one-star rating is the reason the facility does not have a perfect score. She cited a negative phone call experience and claimed she felt the facility was only trying to get insurance money. She also recommended that customer service be improved.
Treatment costs $25,000 per month. TRV accepts most major insurance plans such as Aetna, Humana, UnitedHealth Group, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Cigna.
