The Salvation Army of the Hawaiian and Pacific Islands offers an array of health and human services. One program, Family Treatment Services (FTS), specifically addresses the needs of parenting women who are struggling with substance abuse and addiction. Through FTS in Honolulu, women can access long-term residential and outpatient treatment, transitional housing, and mental healthcare for mothers and their children. The Salvation Army is a global, faith-based, Christian organization; the Honolulu site emphasizes its commitment to culturally appropriate service without discrimination, specifically referencing LGBT clients and community partners. Additional drug and alcohol treatment programs for adults are available at another Honolulu Salvation Army location.

This facility operates multiple programs located on its main campus, each of which takes a holistic approach to recovery. Women and their children receive psychological, spiritual, and physical support that is trauma-oriented and reflective of the local, multi-ethnic community.

Among the therapeutic modalities practiced at the Salvation Army's rehab center are drug and alcohol evaluation, 12-step participation, parenting classes, assertiveness training, and stress management. Both the mothers and children involved in treatment at FTS receive education and psychiatric and behavioral health care. According to HealthGrove, medication-assisted therapy is also available on the FTS campus.

One FTS program, Women's Way, serves adult and adolescent mothers, providing residential and outpatient addiction treatment. Continued care is available through Ke Ola Pono, a therapeutic living program that focuses on providing transitional support in preparation for independent living. Job preparation classes and employment referrals are offered along with life skills training. A third program, Ka 'Ohu Hou O Manoa, offers transitional housing for homeless women and their children.

In addition to substance abuse treatment for mothers, FTS offers childcare and developmental programs for young children ages two weeks to five years.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY has received just one review from a former client’s loved one to date. She would recommend the program, rating the quality of opportunities for family participation five stars and reporting that "they encourage family visits." The reviewer, a client's grandmother, also identified FTC's support for mothers and children living together in rehab as well as the emphasis on "self-sufficiency" as program strengths. However, she did not agree with the alum review highlighting holistic therapy; rather, she awarded that aspect of treatment just one star.
