Facility Information

Specialization
  • Process Abuse Treatment

Not all addictions involve mood-altering chemicals. The term “process addiction” describes the unhealthy use of behaviors (including eating, gambling, sexual activity, shopping, internet use, etc.) that has spiraled out of control and into the realm of addiction.
  • Holistic Therapy

Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.
  • Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
  • Client & Family Support Groups

Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.
  • Aftercare Support

Addiction recovery does not end with discharge after completing a rehab program. Facilities that offer aftercare planning and/or support work with patients to ensure sustainable recovery by helping to plan and make arrangements for transitional or sober living, help with housing, vocational counseling, etc.

I recently contacted Tree House Recovery in search of a place for my son. A few years back I stumbled across their website and decided to revisit it because I was intrigued by how they approach addiction and the methods they use to help men be successful in recovery. I spoke to a young man on the phone who was not only informative but so kind!! He referred me to a staff member to continue my quest for information. The staff member was such a blessing! Although my son chose to remain in our home state for intensive PHP/IOP, I cannot say enough about the way the staff handled my inquiries. We spoke several times on the phone and emailed as well. He was also able to speak to my son (while he was at an inpatient facility out of state). I truly appreciated to how he listened to what I had to say. Being a parent with a loved one in addiction, is not what anyone signs up for. While I was emotional, he was compassionate, understanding, as well as professional. To be honest, he made me want to go .... simply for the personal growth and bonds that these men will share! He took the time to ask about my son and it was never a push to simply get him to commit there. It was nice to know, that he too had a story to share and boy oh boy it's so much easier when you know that someone else understands!! I would encourage my son again, if there is ever the need, to go to Tree House Recovery. I firmly believe that this would be a life changing decision and one that would give him great success in long-term recovery/sobriety!

W is a phenomenal individual who really takes the time to get to know the clients. He was my ESM therapist while I was in treatment and he really challenged me to push beyond my own self-established limits. He wouldn't just suggest things to ask you to do them, he would actively participate with the clients. He show the worth of the program and the activities we participated in through his own word and deed. Will B. is the Physical Director for Portland and has taken his passion for Mixed Martial Arts into the treatment structure of the program. I was privileged enough to participate in a few of the earliest incarnations of this modality. The benefits that it can provide to any individual struggling with any multitude of psychological or neurological imbalances is immense and innumerable. He understands the clients and thus can craft the sessions to benefit individuals specifically and the group as a whole. The reason for the meals being a lower ranking is because at the very beginning you are budgeting for yourself and a lot of the time my pride and ego got in the way of me asking for help on my nutrition to make a more effective and efficient use of my funds for food. However, after I requested help, I was able to take control of diet and budgeting and now am able to do things for myself in my day to day life. The lower rating was because the program wants to empower individuals to ask for the help and then it is up to the individuals to take that advice and implement it. The first couple of weeks, this could be hard for an individual to do. However, I never once went hungry and now have the means to sustain my healthy lifestyle for the duration of my life. Thanks again Will B. and the Tree House Recovery PDX staff.

The over all treatment while attending treehouse was eye opening, I was able to find myself in a safe place surrounded by people who honestly care about me. I was able to open up and be vulnerable with men. Treehouse saved my life I'm coming up on 18months sober and I still have the momentum to keep going thanks to the tools I learned at treehouse.
