Ventura Recovery Center Philosophy
Our passion at VRC is to give active adults the tools to regain life from the grips of addiction. Changing our client’s views about substance abuse requires a different approach to achieve long-term recovery. Through comprehensive 30, 60 and 90 day addiction treatment programs uniquely tailored to each client’s needs, the cycle of addiction can be broken. We are ending addiction one person at a time, one day at a time.
Areas of Specialization
Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.
Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.
Trauma & Associative Awareness Therapy (AAT)
Associative Awareness Therapy (AAT) uses the brain’s innate ability to adapt to change in a healing way, essentially “retraining” the brain to respond differently to familiar memories of trauma or pain.
Animal therapy (also called animal-assisted therapy and pet therapy) supports recovery and emotional wellbeing by helping people develop relationships with animals. Animal therapy can be a one-time or ongoing experience.

ABOUT VENTURA RECOVERY CENTER
Located in a residential neighborhood in the Greater Los Angeles area, Ventura Recovery Center offers medical detox, residential and outpatient treatment, and sober-living facilities for individuals struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment is offered in programs lasting 30, 60, or 90 days. The program is split into three phases: detox, residential care, and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Long-term treatment options are also available for anywhere from six months to a year in length.
The program is built around individual, group, and family therapy, plus confidence-boosting social activities. Specifically, Ventura Recovery Center uses evidence-based therapeutic modalities including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), brief strategic family therapy (BST), psychodynamic group therapy, stress management, and parenting support.
While completing the final, IOP stage of treatment, clients can stay in one of the organization’s sober-living facilities, complete with a live-in residential manager. The IOP phase also includes employment assistance, to help clients begin to lead healthy, productive lives.
The facility employs an M.D. and a psychiatrist on a consulting basis, as well as a master’s level therapist, a certified addictions counselor, and other clinical staff. Ventura Recovery Center also notes that detox is staffed by nurses 24 hours a day. The single individual polled by Rehabs.com to date rated the staff’s level of training and experience with four out of five stars.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
