He is the author of Craving: Why We Can’t Seem to Get Enough (Hazelden 2013), which explains how to curb cravings in accessible terms, so that readers can understand the science of addiction without having to earn a medical degree or be a substance abuse counselor.

Alongside his speaking and writing, he is the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Catasys, where he designs innovative approaches that improve access to addiction care and treatment outcomes.
