Video: Obama Visits ‘Between Two Ferns’

Last updated on November 4th, 2019

The March 31 deadline to enroll in Obamacare heath plans is just around the corner, and the man behind the policy is making his media rounds.

On Tuesday, Barack Obama dared to go where no president has been before – the set of “Between Two Ferns” with Zach Galifianakis. In an effort to reach the younger demographic that Funny or Die-produced spoofs often attract, Obama sat down for an interview-of-sorts with the bearded Hangover actor’s alter ego.

Obama sat through a series of insults and ridiculous questions with his usual cool demeanor. “So how does this work — do you send ambassador Rodman to North Korea on your behalf?” Galifianakis asked, referring to Dennis Rodman’s recent drunken mishap. “What should we do about North Ikea?”

Obama had his fair share of fun, too: “If I ran a third time [for president] it would be sort of like doing a third Hangover movie. It didn’t work out very well, did it?”

Eventually, the conversation segued into Obamacare: “Ok, let’s get this out of the way. What did you come here to plug?” As Galifianakis checks his watch, Obama proceeds to explain how the healthcare.gov website is running well now, and that young Americans are able to get health care coverage for a price similar to their cell phone plan, regardless of pre-existing conditions.
