A provider of outpatient substance abuse treatment, Addiction Recovery Systems (ARS) operates eight clinics throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Its Cape May Court House (Rio Grande) location offers services to the residents of Cape May and surrounding New Jersey shore communities.
The facility offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT), including methadone and Suboxone maintenance, as well as outpatient counseling for those who do not require medication. In the state of New Jersey, ARS - Cape May Court House is among 27.3 percent of substance abuse treatment facilities that offer outpatient methadone maintenance and among 26.7 percent that prescribe Suboxone.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To apply for admission to an ARS program, clients must first participate in an initial screening, which is confidential and offered at no cost. Depending upon the findings of this assessment, clients typically are accepted within 24 to 48 hours.
For clients participating in the ARS - Cape May Court House's MAT, dosing hours are held Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., and Saturday from 5 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Clients generally start the MAT program with daily dosing; over time, the number of visits decreases.
Individuals who opt for the facility's traditional outpatient care typically attend the program once per week. According the ARS website, treatment is individualized and “person-centered.” Clients engage in a mix of individual and group counseling, as well as educational classes and recovery skills workshops.
Driving under the influence (DUI) evaluation and programmingis also available at this location. The program may be designed to satisfy court and/or state requirements for license reinstatement.
Within the state, ARS is among 23 percent of substance abuse treatment facilities accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). According to the ARS website, all programs have a professional staff of physicians, nurse practitioners, licensed counselors, clinical social workers, registered nurses, and certified drug and alcohol counselors.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Rehabs.com has yet to receive alumni feedback to date. However, at the time of this writing, ARS - Cape May Court House received mixed coverage on secondary sites: 3.6 out of five stars based on 19 reviews on Google, as well as two one-star ratings and a perfect five-star rating on CiteHealth.  
Positive reviewers praised the caring, knowledgeable staff and indicated treatment works if clients comply with programming, such as five-star reviewer N.D., who wrote: “Absolutely wonderful very strict but as long as you want to be in recovery this is a wonderful place.” Alum J.H. added: “Helped me get my life together.” Conversely, others reported a lack of organization, high counseling staff turnover, and rude treatment.
WHAT STAFF SAY
The one staff member polled by Rehabs.com to date, R.P.B. submitted negative opinions about ARS - Cape May Court House and would not recommend it to friends or family members seeking treatment. The reviewer assigned two out of five stars for financial support and patients’ interest; and only one star for credentials, fair pricing, honesty, overall quality, and privacy. “No credentialed staff,” they wrote and described the facility as “money driven.”
On secondary site Indeed, the organization as a whole received moderately favorable coverage of 3.3 out of five stars based on 27 reviews from current and former employees at numerous locations.  Of the four who identified they work/worked at the Cape May Court House location, three posted perfect five-star reviews and the other assigned only one star.
Positive reviewers praised the teamwork and supportive management, as referenced by a dispensing nurse: “Patient care is top priority! With that being said, both clinical/medical work together to make this treatment a good experience.” However, the negative reviewer claimed unethical management practices and high staff turnover.
The ARS - Cape May Court House facility is a self-pay clinic that accepts cash, major credit cards, and money orders, as well as New Jersey Medicaid. Some clients may qualify for non-Medicaid state funding.
