ABOUT ALLEGANY COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE (ACASA)
With locations in both Wellsville and Cuba, New York, Allegany Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (ACASA) provides outpatient treatment to adults struggling with substance use disorder. It's also one 198 New York facilities to offer treatment for gambling addiction, which make up about 22 percent of all facilities in the state. In addition, ACASA runs a sober living house and a supportive living facility for men.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Clients undergo assessments and evaluations, including medical, in order to develop a treatment plan that encompasses the person as a whole. Outpatient services include interventions, individual and group therapy, child and family counseling, vocational and education support, and specialized programs for clients with co-occurring disorders.
ACASA also provides outreach programs for prevention in schools, and facilitates an impaired driver program to teach convicted offenders about the danger of driving while under the influence of a chemical substance.
The sober living facility for men is called the Trapping Brook House. Residents stay at the facility while attending outpatient treatment. Once this level of care is complete, clients can move on to ACASA's less-restrictive supportive living program.
Although there is no information available regarding staff credentials, 99 percent of substance abuse treatment facilities in New York have continuing education requirements for staff. The one loved one surveyed by Rehabas.com to date gave ACASA four out of five stars for its staff's level of training and experience.
