ABOUT ARVAC FREEDOM HOUSE
One of several programs of the Arkansas River Valley Area Council (ARVAC), Freedom House of Russellville, Ark. offers residential treatment, social detox, and outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs for individuals affected by mental health and substance use disorders (SUD).
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
ARVAC programs are designed to treat varying degrees of mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) through a combination of evidence-based modalities. Amongst others, these include expressive, recreational, and cognitive behavioral approaches and 12-step facilitation, which is an approach used by 72 percent of treatment facilities in Arkansas.
At the highest level of care offered, residential treatment typically lasts 30 to 45 days; it’s also a long-term service that’s available at just 19.5 percent of Arkansas facilities. The outpatient program helps those with less-severe concerns address self-esteem issues, interpersonal matters, legal issues, as well as develop coping skills.
Sober living options are available to facilitate client’s reentry into their communities. Here, clients receive coaching on resume writing and are given the opportunity to put to practice independent living and coping skills. Freedom House also offers a weekly adult education program for those interested in furthering their studies.
