ABOUT ASHLAND HOME

Located in a suburban neighborhood of Laguna Hills, Calif., and founded in 1998, Ashland Home is a residential treatment center for women struggling with substance abuse. The 30-day program centers around the 12-steps of recovery, peer support, and mentorship. The facility also offers sober living facilities, though detox services are not available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Ashland Home provides non-clinical treatment while using 12-step programming and peer support. Treatment begins with a 30-day residential stay in which time women receive support and sober monitoring from their assigned peers. During residential care, residents may also participate in peer-led counseling sessions and educational workshops.

After the 30-day residential program, women may continue their recovery by living the nonprofit’s nearby-sober living house for an additional year. Residents must remain sober, adhere to house rules, and commit to full-time work. In California, Ashland Home is among the 54.5 percent of facilities to provide specialized programming for women.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Ashland Home relies daily on the effort of volunteers.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Rooms are shared by multiple residents, and sleeping arrangements are occasionally changed. The facility's website depicts a spacious, home-like facility with a kitchen, living room, and outdoor recreation area.

"It was 30 day free program so being in my disease and homeless at the time, this was ideal for me," Lila wrote.

FINANCING

Ashland’s webpage maintains that programs are provides "at no charge to the women they serve." In California, Ashland Home is among the 46.6 percent of facilities that may offer treatment at no-cost. However, a nominal fee of $100 per week is required to reside at the sober living home.

It's free and available to woman only. Non medical detox. I've gone to many rehabs and detoxes, this one was the only one focused on 12 steps and not on massages, yoga, etc. It was 30 day free program so being in my disease and homeless at the time, this was ideal for me. They allow u to leave premises at 21 days for job search and offer affordable sober living to those who graduate 30 days and get a job

Ashland is totally volunteer run and donation operated. It is in a neighborhood family home. Non medical, not even an aspirin allowed. 3 meeting a day first 30 days, 5 meetings a week and job required in sober living. Lots of support from other sober women. Allowed one year in 2 sober living locations run by Ashland Home. Also a once a week on site volunteer shift required for sober living. First come first served for entry. Person must call for themselves to reserve a bed and be there within a few hours or the bed is not held. House always full. Out of 5, this is the only rehab that worked for me
