Aware Recovery Care’s unique and innovative in-home addiction treatment program was founded on the research supported idea that recovery in the “real-world” leads to far better rehabilitation results. In fact, extensive research has shown that receiving medical care and monitored support in the home promotes faster recovery, improves outcomes, and increases the patient’s overall physical and psychological well-being.

The Aware Recovery Care multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team for each and every client is led by an Addiction Psychiatrist and supported by an Addiction Nurse, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an Individual Therapist, and a Certified Recovery Advisor (CRA). These care-teams are dispatched all over the state of Connecticut and New Hampshire to deliver exceptional addiction rehab services in the home. Our teams utilize a wide range of evidence based practices to give our clients the very best chance of recovery.

At Aware Recovery Care, we also believe in a whole-person and family-systems approach. As a result, our addiction rehab program involves family members in our clients treatment plan as essential supports. The family as well as the client benefits from the Aware Recovery Care 52 week program.

ABOUT AWARE RECOVERY CARE IN-HOME ADDICTION TREATMENT

Based in Connecticut, with an office in Bedford, N. H., Aware Recovery Care (ARC) is a drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation program for adults and adolescents. Building on a program initiated by a Yale Medical School psychiatrist, ARC offers a one-year outpatient program in which clients receive treatment in their own homes and communities. ARC also operates in Connecticut through its North Haven office.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Clients come from an array of backgrounds, including those with young family obligations, individuals transitioning out of inpatient treatment, corporate executives, and students.

Before beginning a highly individualized recovery program, each client meets with a staff psychiatrist and undergoes a physical exam at their home. Over the course of the year that follows, a certified recovery advisor (CRA) meets regularly with the client to coordinate medical assessment, therapies, support group strengthening, and collaboration with additional clinicians.

The CRA utilizes evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), the latter of which is practiced in 65.7 percent of treatment facilities in New Hampshire. The program is also among the 65.7 percent of New Hampshire treatment programs to provide trauma-related counseling.

ARC recommends a 12-step-informed curriculum, and a client's CRA may accompany then to initial Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous, SMART Recovery or Celebrate Recovery meetings, as well as other appointments. A specialized treatment track for professionals is also offered.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

ARC's New Hampshire treatment team is led by an addiction psychiatrist and includes a registered nurse, a licensed therapist, a marriage and family therapist, and two certified recovery advisors.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

While Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from this facility’s alumni, the New Hampshire program received three five-star reviews on Google.[1] Megan, the one former client to leave commentary, wrote: "ARC literally saved my life. I had an amazing team of people that were always there when I needed them and they provided great support."

FINANCING

Aware Recovery Care's 52-week program costs approximately $38,000, according to a September 2014 New Haven Register story and an NPR piece from 2017. Self-pay is accepted, and interest-free financing is available through M-Lend Finance and MyTreatmentLender.com. The organization is an in-network provider with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and has been covered out-of-network by other insurance carriers.
