BestCare Treatment Services operates several addiction treatment facilities throughout Central Ore., but its main residential treatment center and administrative offices are based in Redmond. BestCare treats individuals ages 18 and up who are suffering from substance abuse through residential care, outpatient services, and an intensive outpatient (IOP) program.

The facility is also amongst the 35 (15.7 percent) non-hospital Oregon treatment centers where medically managed detox is offered onsite. Specialized programming is available for those struggling with co-occurring disorders - one of just 115 (51.6 percent) in the state with this treatment track - gambling addictions, and chronic pain. BestCare also offers Spanish language services.

Clients are assessed to determine the level of care that they need. Detox services are provided to help stabilize clients before transferring them to another program. Medically managed detox services are overseen by the medical director as well as certified nurses. If necessary, Subutex may be utilized to minimize the discomfort of opioid withdrawal.

Residential treatment involves a range of different therapies combined with medical, educational, and sober living support. Clients adhere to a highly structured schedule that includes individual, group, and family therapy as well as 12-step work. Typically, residential care last for 30 days.

Physical activity is also encouraged through physical fitness classes and yoga sessions. Clients also attend educational classes, art therapy, and nutrition classes. For those experiencing chronic pain, the facility utilizes anti-inflammation dieting, mindfulness training, acupuncture, and massage. However, medical intervention may be available for severe pain based on each client’s condition.

As a client completes residential care, clinicians may be encouraged to transition into the facility's IOP or utilize its outpatient services as an aftercare service.

According to the center’s website, treatment is administered by a full medical staff and specialized counselors.

No details regarding living arrangements are available. However, alumni polled by on BestCare’s accommodations and amenities provided mixed reviews, with ratings ranging from one to four out of five stars.

The three alumni polled by to date gave overall positive opinions of the facility. Alum M.T.G. wrote that his time at BestCare “was a life saving experience," giving five-star ratings to exercise activities, holistic offerings, and the visitation policy as well. Another former client, J.S., gave four-star ratings in the above categories. He noted that he would recommend this facility to others, crediting it for his sustained sobriety.

However, the the third anonymous alum issued a less-than-enthusiastic two-star rating for their overall experience, citing unhelpful staff. Although the respondent still characterized the program as decent, they gave just two out of five stars or lower for the facility’s available counseling options and holistic offerings.

Secondary sources revealed very positive alumni opinions. On Google, the facility earned an average rating of four out of five stars from seven reviews to date.[1] Alum M.G. representatively wrote, “Best cared saved my life! I was so happy, comfortable and welcomed there! I learned, laughed cried and shared! The staff are absolutely amazing!”

Additionally, 38 reviewers produced a 4.7 out of five-star average rating on the center's Facebook page to date, which its management has the ability to monitor.[2] Alumni repeatedly praised the program's effectiveness and the care that they received, with a few individuals sharing stories of staff compassion and forgiveness.

The three loved ones polled by to date provided mixed reviews, but all three gave low ratings of just one or two stars for treatment effectiveness overall. Loved one J.L.P. gave largely negative feedback, commenting upon the continued alcohol and drug use within the facility and noting concerns about staff members themselves relapsing. Indicating that he would not recommend this center to others, this individual wrote, "too many problems..."

However, another loved one wrote, "The groups were helpful to help you work through the problems you're having with staying clean, " offering three stars for counseling options. The third loved one reviewer awarded counseling options five out of five stars, but left little other commentary.

Although has not received reviews from staff members, reviews on third party websites revealed mix opinions. On Glassdoor, the facility earned three out of five stars from four reviewers. [3] An anonymous former employee gave their overall experience four out of five stars, noting “team dynamics” as one of BestCare’s strengths, but they added, “As a non-profit, the workforce is subject to economic pressures outside of employee control, so at times work is not stable.”

According to BestCare’s website, the cost of treatment varies from client-to-client based on each client’s individual care plan. The facility accepts most major insurance plans and Oregon Health Plan. However, not all services may be covered based on each plan and client. Financial assistance may be available for those who do not have insurance or have trouble meeting co-payments.

The groups were helpful to help you work through the problems you're having with staying clean. Most of the staff weren't helpful in getting the results I wanted out of the program. It was a decent program and wasn't impossible to graduate.
