ABOUT BRADFORD HEALTH SERVICES

Bradford Health Services, located in Cookeville, Tenn., offers one of 116 intensive outpatient treatment programs in the state, as well as medical detox, and an aftercare program for adults and adolescents seeking treatment for drug addiction or alcohol dependency. Bradford Health Services is a large network of addiction treatment facilities and has been in operation for over 30 years. The Cookeville location is one of 29 facilities.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The treatment process at Bradford Health Services begins with a comprehensive assessment performed by a team of specialists. Each client is assessed in order to determine their specific needs and to determine if they are ready for treatment. Then, staff members help them start the recovery process.

Bradford Health Services provides an abstinence-based treatment program that includes the 12-Step model. The 12-Steps program is used in 73 percent of U.S. treatment facilities and is a favorite model for faith and long-term recovery treatment plans. Clients participate in weekly 12-Step meetings.

Clients also participate in group therapy sessions and educational courses. Each session focuses on the specific needs of the group in order to help clients overcome specific issues that they face in treatment. The educational courses focus on relapse prevention and substance abuse education.

Clients have access to a detox program that provides 24-hour access to medical staff and detox facilities. Only 19 percent of outpatient facilities in the state offer detox services. Gender and age groups are kept separate for detox services.

After program completion, the Cookeville location offers continuing care services for adult and adolescent alumni to assist in sustained sobriety. These aftercare services include referrals to Bradford Health Services’ alumni association, ongoing monitoring and support, and referrals to community-based resources.
