Process Abuse Treatment, Medical Detoxification
Rehabs.com 360 Guide
Located in Salem, Ore., Bridgeway provides treatment for individuals struggling with substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and gambling addictions. Both residential and outpatient programming is available for adults, and the facility is one of Oregon's only 76 (34.5 percent) that offers specialized, outpatient tracks for adolescents and DUI offenders. In addition, this is one of the 24 (10.8 percent) facilities in the state where medically monitored detoxification is available on-site. All programs are available in Spanish.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To determine the most appropriate level of care, clients may participate in an initial behavioral health assessment. Those who require medical attention may begin their treatment with detoxification, a process that lasts between five and seven days. Once stabilized, adults who need a high level of structure may be referred to residential treatment. Typically lasting 45 to 60 days, the residential program consists of a 35-hour weekly schedule that incorporates individual, group, and family therapy, 12-step meetings, self-developmental education, and recreational activities. Bridgeway also integrates holistic modalities, including yoga, guided meditation, gardening, and artistic expression. Ongoing medication management is available to individuals struggling with co-occurring mental health difficulties.
Residential treatment for problem gambling is similar in design, though all counselors are certified by the State of Oregon to treat gambling addiction. In addition to therapy and off-site support meetings, the program also includes financial planning assistance and gambling education.
All of Bridgeway’s outpatient programming is tailored to the individual client’s needs. Most clients receive five hours of treatment each week and remain in the program for up to 90 days. Once a client completes the program, Bridgeway connects them with community resources to help support their continued recovery.
Bridgeway’s multidisciplinary staff includes an on-site medical director, program supervisors, certified drug and alcohol addiction counselors, and certified problem gambling counselors. Staff at this facility received positive feedback from the five individuals surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing.
