ABOUT CARTER HOPE CENTER

Located in Dalton, Ga., which is about 90 miles north of Atlanta, Carter Hope Center provides residential treatment to adult men and women struggling with substance use disorder. It's one of 51 substance abuse treatment facilities in Georgia (18 percent) to provide non-hospital residential treatment that lasts longer than 30 days. It's also among the 26 percent of Georgia treatment facilities that operates as a private nonprofits.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

To be admitted, individuals must be over 18 years old and submit a clean drug test or complete detox at another facility. Treatment at Carter Hope Center is evidence-based and typically lasts nine months. The program follows the Matrix Model, which is a modality utilized by 54 percent of Georgia treatment facilities.

Core aspects of the Matrix Model, clients participate in a minimum of five 12-step meetings per week, along with individual counseling, early recovery skills groups, and community meetings. The program also provides addiction education and relapse prevention workshops, and clients are required to find and maintain employment while in the program. To help achieve this, the facility offers job search training.

After completing residential treatment, clients may participate in aftercare options, such as aftercare groups and/or the facility's sober living program.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The treatment team includes certified addiction counselors, as well as counselors in training under supervision. The one loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave Carter Hope Center just one out of five stars for its staff's level of training and experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The Carter Hope Center is set a white Victorian house with a wraparound porch. It has 24 beds for men and 10 for women.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

While Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from this facility’s alumni, Carter Hope Center received an average rating of 3.8 out of five stars based on five Google reviews[1], and a 4.5 out of five star rating based on the opinions of 39 individuals on Facebook[2], which the facility may manage.

The three former clients who left comments across both sites reported having positive experiences at the rehab, including Justin who wrote the following representative review on Facebook: "Carter Hope recovery is a place that has saved my life. Words can't describe the passion and love I have for all the staff that work at Carter Hope."

The facility did receive one negative review from
Xavier on Yelp[3], who gave Carter Hope Center an overall rating of just one out of five stars. He claimed that the rehab lost much of his belongings and did not allow him to return to treatment after a relapse.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

Rehabs.com has received one review from an anonymous loved one who indicated that they would not recommend the facility to friends and family. They also gave Carter Hope Center ratings of just one or two out of five stars for its holistic offerings, its counseling options, and its cleanliness. "Treatment and accommodations could have been better," they noted.

FINANCING

According to the facility's website, clients must pay a $600 admission fee, which includes physical assessment and medical testing, as well as the first two weeks of treatment. After that, clients are expected to pay a weekly fee of $150.
