ABOUT CATALYST BEHAVIORAL SERVICES — COMMUNITY HOUSE
Oklahoma City’s Catalyst Behavioral Services operates several locations that provide a continuum of care for those struggling with substance use and mental health disorders. One of these, Community House, is the state’s longest-running residential rehab. The facility emphasizes individualized programming, offering dual diagnosis treatment as well as on-site medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Out-of-state clients are accepted.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Clients begin treatment at Catalyst Behavioral Services Community House with a comprehensive assessment, which covers medical needs as well as mental health. According to a federal directory of treatment facilities, detox services for alcohol and drug addiction are available, and ongoing MAT for opioid dependency utilizes buprenorphine.
Treatment plans typically involve individual and group therapy, and the facility’s website emphasizes the importance of its weekend family visits to understand and support each client’s recovery progress.
Among the modalities practiced at Community House are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, rational emotive behavior therapy, and 12-step facilitation. An array of specialized groups are offered, including gender-specific groups and groups addressing trauma, anger management, age-oriented experiences, LGBT clients, and court-referred clients.
The Catalyst Behavioral Services website reports a 1:8 staff-to-client ratio for groups. Throughout the agency, treatment team members include a psychiatrist and licensed therapists.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The 55-bed Community House facility is located in the Culbertson East Highland neighborhood of OKC. Bedrooms are semi-private and the campus includes multiple entertainment spaces, exercise equipment, and volleyball and basketball courts. A staff dietitian plans resident meals.
