Centra Health - Pathways Recovery Lodge Philosophy

At Pathways, we treat people. We accept people where they are in their unique struggle with addiction. We provide a seamless and comprehensive healing environment. We embrace contemporary, evidenced-based practices. We help patients change their lives with personalized care centered on honesty, respect, and the belief that each person under our care is worthy of our highest effort.

Areas of Specialization

  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Patients who undergo intensive outpatient treatment continue to live at home and sometimes go to school or work while participating in a highly structured treatment protocol that is focused on ending substance abuse. Programs vary in terms of how much treatment patients receive, how often and for how long. Some facilities design individualized intensive outpatient treatment programs.

  • Family Program
Research shows that the odds of successful, sustained recovery from addiction are far higher when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often have genetic roots, whether related to substance abuse, mental illness or both. Family dynamics also play a role and, often, family members are the first to realize a loved one has developed an addiction. Also, it’s important for family members to understand and embrace the lifestyle changes that are required to sustain recovery.

Absolutely DO NOT attend this retreat if you or your loved one is at all serious about getting clean. While my sisters was a patient here, one of the patients here snuck in drugs and distributed them to the other patients. This is more of a summer retreat than any sort of wellness program- the regulations are lax, nobody checked me or the bags I brought into the facility on visitation day, and they take the patients into town to shop or participate in activities in public settings, and apparently don't keep track of what they're doing or bringing back when they return. When I talked to the other patients, serveral told me they'd been back to the same facility several times, dozens of times in some cases. I just can't bring myself to put one scrap of faith in the efficacy of the practice here. This is not a healthy environment for adults of any level.

I cannot recommend Pathways enough. The only complaint I can truly give is the quality of the food. But during my stay (December-January 2016-17) I did notice improvements in the meal quality. Considering how awesome the facility is though I don't think the food should discourage anyone from going to Pathways.

I'm so grateful for my time at Pathways. The staff was helpful and accessible, the vibe was laid-back and the view was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much. It's exactly what I needed in that it provided a strong foundation for my recovery. I was there for ~23 days and am coming up on 90 days sober!

Introduce you to outside NA/AA meetings. Lots of one on one time with counselor. Lots of indoor and outdoor activities with other patients. Pathways saved my life. Upon going there I learned so much about myself and 12 step programs and now I am 2 years clean from any mind altering or mood changing substance. The staff are phenomenal there and are willing to help at any time. Only weakness of the facility was that it was small and enclosed.

This rehab does okay in making family and visitors feel welcome, but I haven't heard great things from people who have stayed there. However, this may be because he didn't want to be there to begin with. They offer aid but are not well staffed.
