ABOUT DAMON HOUSE INC.- RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM
Based in central New Brunswick, N.J., Damon House is a nonprofit facility, which make up about 51 percent of all treatment facilities in New Jersey; it is one of the 46 (13.4 percent) of New Jersey facilities that offers residential treatment services. It also offers outpatient treatment for men and women whose addiction has led to financial hardship. Co-occurring disorders including anxiety and depression can be treated at this facility, and the center often treats indigent individuals.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to Damon House's website, treatments begins with a urine screen, and medical and psychiatric evaluations are carried out within a week of admission.
Damon House is built around the philosophy that every man and woman has the power to succeed. The facility provides scant information about its treatment services, though it hosts 12-step meetings, indicating that the program at least incorporates and might be based on the 12-Steps.
In addition, the facility's website notes that treatment is multidisciplinary. An alum polled by Rehabs.com indicated that treatment was not based on faith, and that the program was very bare bones, with minimal extracurricular and holistic offerings and counseling options.
Damon House's website indicates the treatment team includes a psychiatrist, a physician, a nurse, a family therapist, licensed addiction counselors, case managers, and a nutritionist. The alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave one out of five stars for the staff's level of training and experience.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Damon House's website notes the residential facility offers 64 beds, and the program includes fitness sessions. Except for a single call to request any necessary items, residents may not contact their loved ones for the first 14 days of treatment.
The single alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the facility three out of five stars for meals and nutrition and one star for accommodations, cleanliness, and exercise and leisure offerings.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
All three of the alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date gave negative feedback for Damon House. The alumni noted that the program did not help them and that in some cases it hindered them.
"I have been damaged by the experience," B.S. told Rehabs.com, and an anonymous reviewer added: "Do not go here... I am one of two people still clean out of 280 clients The only reason I made it was my previous 12 step exposure." The single alum polled on Damon House's offerings in a variety of treatment metrics gave the center one out of five stars in almost all of the 15 evaluated treatment metrics, including its treatment effectiveness, family participation, counseling options, and ability to treat co-occurring disorders.
Secondary sites yielded mixed coverage at the time of this writing. The 20 people to leave reviews on Damon House, Inc's Facebook page, which it has the ability to manage, gave an average of four out of five stars. Most individuals who left commentary gave positive feedback and praised the center's treatment effectiveness. "Damon House changed my whole outlook on life...... Ive been clean for about 2 yrs," Keith wrote on Facebook.
The two people who left reviews for Citehealth to date gave one out of five stars, and negative feedback including calling the staff rude. 
To date, the four people who left Google Reviews gave an average of four out of five stars. Of the four reviews, three gave positive commentary. "The best thing that could of happen to me this is my first home," G.S. wrote in a representative review.
According to Damon House;s website, it is one of the 253 (73.5 percent) of New Jersey treatment centers that offers fees on a sliding scale. It pledges to never turn anyone away because they're unable to pay for treatment.
