Located in Franklin, N.H., 80 miles north of Boston, Farnum North’s Webster Place offers a full continuum of treatment programs for adult men (aged 17 and older) struggling with chemical dependency. The facility offers residential care, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and traditional outpatient program.

One of five facilities operated by Farnum, Webster Place is one of New Hampshire’s 61 private, for-profit facilities, 30 of which offer programs specifically for men. Although detoxification is not available on-site, clients may be referred to the Manchester facility, if medically necessary, to undergo detoxification before admission into Webster Place.

For admittance to Webster Place, clients must first have a phone interview with an admissions counselor, followed by the completion of a physician’s waiver and payment upon entrance. While the length of treatment varies, most clients commit to a treatment plan of at least 30 days.

The recovery process includes a structured daily schedule consisting of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings, 12-step work, and a plethora of alternative therapies in a non-medical, non-clinical setting.

According to the facility’s website, the recovery process at Webster Place at Farnum North revolves around the concept of “Health Realization,” which focuses on improving clients’ mindful consciousness through group, individual, and peer-driven counseling groups.

Residents also participate in a range of recreational and therapeutic activities. These include gardening, yoga, acupuncture, art therapy, and meditation. Webster Place also hosts chaperoned field trips to lakes and baseball games.

Although clients generally stay in treatment for up to 30 days, residents may stay longer based on their housing situation. Webster Place makes it a policy to keep clients if they do not have adequate housing post-treatment. Case managers work to find clients suitable housing before being discharged. When possible, housing is located where clients can continue treatment in an outpatient capacity.

Lead by a certified Doctor of Psychology, Webster Place at Farnum North’s staff consists of licensed counselors, case managers, and a support staff. Access to a medical specialist is available at a sister facility.

Webster Place at Farnum North is a 42-bed facility, placing it in the top 30% of facilities in New Hampshire in terms of size. Single and double occupancy rooms are available. Residents are expected to keep their living areas clean, including communal areas. Food is served family-style. According to the facility’s website, the facility can make arrangements for dietary restrictions.

At the time of this writing, five alumni have provided feedback about Webster Place. With one exception, alumni generally praised the facility. Three alumni polled extensively offered four- and five-star ratings for the staff's level of experience and training, while two alumni awarded perfect five-star ratings for the respect shown to clients, the effectiveness of counseling, and the inclusion of holistic offerings. "I now enjoy every day as a miracle, and take each moment as it comes - sober and with love, faith, honesty and hope," S.W. wrote.

The one critical reviewer, J.D., felt that the facility was too lax in their response to residents who relapse, describing the facility as "terribly destructive and detrimental."

On its unofficial Facebook page, the facility earned a four out of five star review and three five out of five star reviews at the time of this writing.[1] Three alumni specifically praised staff members. “Really care about you and want too see you do well,” one representative reviewer wrote.

The sole loved one polled by Rehabs.com to date was overall neutral. The anonymous family member gave Webster Place’s level of staff experience three out of five stars, adding: “Great people to listen to you.” However, the loved one, when polled on the rehab’s weaknesses, wrote: “Not able to keep promises.”

To date, one staff member has provided feedback about Webster Place to Rehabs.com. Citing individual counseling as a facility strength, the staff member gave the facility five out of five star ratings for its holistic offerings, affordability, cleanliness, and treatment for co-occurring disorders.

Webster Place accepts some private insurance plans. According to the facility's website, the cost will not exceed $600 a day, and financial assistance may be available to those who qualify.

The Father of my children was thin this facility for rehab. thinking he was coming home after. Just to find out the staff member is now seeing him and He totally left his family. I would like to know if there is a protocol for staff giving extra benefits to residents.

I just received my 5 year medallion and it would not have been possible without my experience at Webster. What I learned about AA, its program and the steps has shaped the way I live one day at a time. "Give yourself a chance!"

A beautiful facility and awesome, nurturing & caring staff who know personally about addiction. 12 step-based peer program - I learned so much about myself & life and the support I got saved my life and has changed my life...happily sober 2+ years now...I was made to feel like I "belonged" and they took care, no matter what age the residents were/are. Many chances to learn and grow...Lots of great spiritual motivation by the setting, nature walks & river-swims, healing circles, meditation, meetings, acupuncture, leisure activities at free time such as ART, gardening, cooking, writing, or volleyball & walks, gym, swimming! Daily sessions on reading or studying the 12 steps, living sober, reading, writing, journaling, group therapy/ies, also learning discipline & structure all over again, accountability, chores to maintain facility & foodservice, farming/gardening, etc. etc. Things I had forgotten all about - structure, hope, a chance to heal. It is the only rehab I have ever stayed at, but it was exactly the right one for me....I now enjoy every day as a miracle, and take each moment as it comes - sober and with love, faith, honesty and hope.

This is a peer based community in which every staff member is in recovery so it is a very respectful and understanding environment that allows for a unique perspective on care. Very personalized and effective.

Webster place is a troubled treatment center. The staff changeover is constant and they are not well trained....Many of the residents relapse while in residence and that is terribly destructive and detrimental to all involved. The staff allows relapsers to stay in the program. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
