ABOUT HEALTH CARE & REHABILITATION SERVICES (HCRS)
Based in Springfield, Vt., Heath Care & Rehabilitation Services (HCRS) offers a full continuum of treatment options for adults and adolescents seeking treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns. Services include assessments, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), outpatient treatment, and education and referral services for adults, youth, and families. HCRS also recently began operating residential programs in the communities of Woodstock and Ludlow.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The treatment process at HCRS begins with a comprehensive clinical assessment upon admittance to the program. This assessment is used to determine the specific treatment needs of each client. A trained staff member analyzes the client’s medical history and current condition to determine an appropriate level of care.
HCRS' residential services span from short-term crisis stabilization, to intensive residential care, to therapeutic community residential services. During residential care, clients may participate in a highly structured schedule of educational classes, counseling sessions, and recreational therapy. Medication management may also be available to those with co-occurring disorders.
The IOP lasts for eight weeks and includes nine hours of group therapy per week. Clients also gain access to case management services and one-on-one counseling. Case management services can make a significant difference in the success of a rehab program, which is offered in up to 82.2% of U.S. treatment facilities.
The Springfield location also has an Impaired Driver Rehabilitation Program, which consists of 10 hours of educational courses over a four-week period. Working with the court system, clients can participate in programs to fulfill their legal requirements for DUI charges and other related charges. Such programs are widely available, as 27% of all clients in rehab facilities are seeking treatment related to a DUI charge, according to a 2016 SAMHSA survey.
HCRS provides treatment services to clients’ families as well. The facility provides family and couples therapy, a la carte case management services, and community support.
HCRS' treatment team includes a medical director who oversees psychiatrists, counselors, nurses, and medical assistants.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
HCRS residential programs can accommodate up to 38 clients through its five individual programs. However, no further information concerning living arrangement or amenities is available.
