ABOUT NOVA RECOVERY CENTER — WIMBERLEY
Nova Recovery Center operates an array of Texas drug and alcohol rehab facilities. This 90-day residential center on 25 acres south of Austin specializes in treatment for adult men and women who struggle with chronic relapse. Clients enjoy luxury accommodations and participate in gender-separate clinical and holistic care.
Nova’s three detox facilities are located in nearby Buda at Hill Country Detox, and in Austin and Houston Heights. Outpatient treatment is also available in Austin and Houston, along with sober living programming through Eudaimonia Recovery Homes.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Admission to Wimberley's long-term rehab program at Nova Recovery Center begins with a phone assessment, followed by an on-site medical exam. After a client has completed any necessary detox services, they begin a highly personalized, “fluid” treatment plan that is adjusted to meet their needs throughout the 90-day program.
Plans typically incorporate 12-step principles and practices with individual and group-based psychotherapy, physical fitness, and experiential therapy. Clients also participate in Brene Brown’s shame- and courage-oriented Daring Way curriculum. Representative treatment modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, and contingency management; art, music, and pet therapy; trauma-informed eye movement desensitization and reprocessing; and education.
Families are encouraged to participate in a three-day program.
Following residential rehab at Wimberley, Nova recommends that its clients enroll in the organization’s full continuum of care, progressing through intensive outpatient (IOP) and aftercare programs at the organization’s other locations. Addiction monitoring is also available.
The Nova Recovery Center treatment team includes a board-certified psychiatrist, a consulting board-certified addictionologist, master’s-level therapists, nurses, and certified Daring Way and alcohol and drug addiction counselors.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Nova Recovery Center’s secluded Wimberly setting features gender-separate cottages, an outdoor swimming pool, and basketball and volleyball courts. Clients each work with a personal trainer on staff and follow a five-day-per-week exercise plan. Off-site outings include bowling and movies.
Visitation is scheduled on Sundays. Residents may not access personal electronic devices.
