Founded in 1998 and located 10 miles from Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park, InnerBalance Health Center is a luxury treatment center offering non-medical detox and residential care for individuals struggling with substance abuse — one of 56 residential programs in the state of Colorado. Residential stays generally last 28 days and focus on holistic healing through biochemical restoration, spiritual support, nutrition, and counseling.

InnerBalance’s program is built on the belief that successful addiction treatments must address the body, mind, spirit, emotions, and environment. As such, the center offers a 28-day, determinedly holistic program that’s designed to address each of these areas.

The most traditional elements of the InnerBalance program are emotional, behavioral, and spiritual counseling, as well as encouragement to build a support network through 12-step programs, Life Ring, Women for Sobriety, or any of the other self-help programs.

Unique to InnerBalance, the center offers a range of biochemistry-based treatment methods, including nutrition therapy and biochemical restorations, through vitamins, minerals, amino acids, yoga, infrared sauna, and other holistic methods. Families are encouraged to attend a three-day family program, which runs every other month.

Following treatment, the center can provide referrals to a range of aftercare options, including outpatient care and sober living programs, as needed.

InnerBalance's team includes two physicians, a licensed psychologist, and master's-level counselors, therapists, and life coaches several of whom are in recovery themselves. The single individual polled by to date on the staff's level of training and experience gave it four out of five stars.

The residential facility is a large family-style home with a garden and private or shared bedrooms, decorated in a cozy, rustic style. The cost of the program includes membership at a local health club with a pool, jacuzzi, and state-of-the-art exercise machines. Optional personal training sessions are also available.

Being close to the Rocky Mountains, the center also offers access to year-round recreational activities, such as skiing, hiking, biking, bird watching, boating, climbing, rafting, and kayaking. The two individuals polled by to date on the center's accommodations, meals and nutrition, cleanliness, and exercise and leisure offerings gave high four- and five-star ratings in each of these categories.

The single alum polled by to date gave very positive feedback. Alum Bill gave the center five out of five stars for its holistic offerings and its level of staff support, as well as the overall quality of its individual and group counseling. Bill also indicated that he received aftercare following treatment, consisting of group therapy sessions conducted via phone. However, Bill also indicated that his psychiatric needs were not quite met, but added: "I have been sober for 7 years and counting. No slips."

InnerBalance has mostly positive feedback on secondary sites, with a 4.6 out of five-star average rating based on 36 reviews on Google, a sole one-star rating on Yelp, and a five-star rating on[1] [2] [3] The one negative reviewer on Yelp cautioned against using the facility for opioid detox, since no addiction medications were used.

However, the positive reviewers repeatedly reported achieving sobriety at InnerBalance after numerous failed attempts elsewhere, as well as praising the center's unusual holistic approach. "This is a world class treatment center. I did the inpatient treatment and loved it. There is a lot that they offer that you can not find anywhere else," Timothy wrote in a typical comment on Google.

The single loved polled by to date gave positive feedback, indicating that they would strongly recommend treatment at InnerBalance. The loved one gave the facility five out of five stars for its overall effectiveness, as well as its counseling options and ability to treat co-occurring disorders. The lowest-ranking categories were the center’s holistic offerings and level of connectivity with clients, which both received three out of five stars each. “Clean. Well maintained. Good. Helped overcome addiction. Great staff and management,” the anonymous loved one wrote.

InnerBalance accepts private insurance on an out-of-network basis, placing it among the 50.9 percent of Colorado facilities that accept private insurance, but Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted. InnerBalance has also partnered with medical loans companies, for those clients who need to take out a loan to access treatment. The single individual polled by to date on the center’s affordability gave it three out of five stars.
