Land Manor, Inc., a nonprofit agency serving Southeast Texas for close to 50 years, operates three residential treatment facilities for women struggling with chemical dependency. Franklin House North (FHN) is one of the just 2.1 percent of Texas facilities to provide residential beds for clients’ children, and the 25.1 percent offering specialized care for pregnant and postpartum women.
Located in Beaumont, along with FHN, Land Manor operates Franklin House South, a residential rehab for women in the criminal justice system and the Melton Center for adult females.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The Land Manor website characterizes treatment at Franklin House North as “highly structured” and focused the goal of independence in recovery. Programming includes training in parenting skills, self-esteem development, and empowerment skills. Clients may participate in a structured schedule of counseling sessions, educational classes, and therapeutic recreation.
While information is limited concerning programming, three alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing indicated that a 12-step model is a significant part of treatment. Clients may attend on-site and off-site meetings, study fellowship literature, and attend 12-step workshops. FHN also offers outpatient programming.
According to the facility's website, Franklin House North is staffed by state-licensed chemical dependency counselors. To date, the four individuals polled on the matter by Rehabs.com gave moderately negative ratings concerning the staff.

Ratings of one, three, and five stars, respectively, from three former clients asked to rate their likelihood to recommend the facility to others provides a snapshot of the range of opinions given on some facility aspects.
Comments about staff ranged from citing counselors as the facility’s strength to describing employees as rude and unprofessional. In a review echoed elsewhere on third-party websites, one alum wrote that the staff was both “understanding” and yet “too forgiving...kinda lenient.” Overall, the alumni offered moderate ratings concerning counseling options, though reported limited holistic offerings.

All three Google reviews for Franklin House North awarded the facility four or five out of five stars. “Fhn saved my life it’s tough they’re strict but if you’re like me that’s what you need,” wrote alum A.A. in a representative review. In partial contrast, a single alum on CiteHealth rated the facility one out of five stars, describing disorganization and insufficient access to therapy.

Rehabs.com has received feedback from one loved one at the time of this writing, whose daughter did not stay in treatment at FHN because of what she reported as “rude and not supportive” treatment.

While Rehabs.com has not yet received any feedback from present or former employees for Land Manor, Inc., seven reviews on Indeed, averaging 3.1 out of five stars, revealed two trends, including one consistent with alumni reviews. About half (three) staffers commented on the facilities’ poor organization. However, four expressed pride and enjoyment in their work with clients.
According to the facility’s website, Franklin House North and other Land Manor, Inc., rehab centers are funded primarily by Texas state agencies. The organization is also a designated Medicaid provider.
In June 2018, the local Southeast Texas CBS TV outlet KFDM reported that Land Manor plans to open a residential rehab program for teen males in Beaumont.
