Treatment Center Setting
Lumiere Healing Centers Philosophy
Lumiere Healing Centers is a full-service addiction treatment facility located on a secluded and peaceful private golf course outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. We offer a superior step-down treatment program that is individualized for every client, including safe and comfortable drug and alcohol detox, inpatient residential treatment, outpatient treatment, and sobriety aftercare. Alongside high-quality medical care by a compassionate and caring staff, Lumiere also offers group and individual behavioral counseling. Our counseling doesn’t just simply offer coping mechanisms it also addresses the underlying motivation for the addiction to ensure a long-lasting recovery. We create a warm and healing environment for our clients, with luxurious facilities, a serene atmosphere and a focus on nutrition to nourish the body and the mind. Lumiere also provides a community of support for our clients that lasts for the rest of their lives, from the constant support of our devoted staff, to Sunday family visits and therapy, to the ongoing support of our active alumni group that meets once a week. Our approach to addiction treatment is rooted in self-reflection and self-discovery. We treat the person, not the addiction. Our holistic approach ensures our clients have the tools they need for a brighter future of sobriety.
Areas of Specialization
The Lumiere Difference
Lumiere has a compassionate and caring staff that offers individualized care to every client by creating personalized treatment programs to take into account their unique history and individual needs. We never exceed a 1:10 client to staff ratio and always have team members on call 24/7, so we are fully prepared to take care of clients' specific needs during recovery. Our luxurious facilities include a restaurant chef who can personalize meals and private rooms to ensure every client feels comfortable during their stay.
Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.
Individual & Group Counseling
Lumiere offers different types of counseling to provide the support and guidance needed for a successful recovery. Our individual counseling sessions focus on self-reflection therapy using techniques such as interactive journaling. Group counseling includes inspirational meetings and addiction and recovery educational sessions, as well as specialized discussions, such as stress and anxiety group, goal group, triggers and impulses group, and honesty and denial group. At Lumiere, there is also family-focused counseling and support that allows clients and their families to learn how to reestablish trust and communicate more effectively.
Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment
These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
The focus of cognitive behavioral therapy (also called CBT) is helping people to understand the thoughts and emotions that underlie their addiction with the goal of learning new, healthier and more productive ways to understand and express themselves.
Recovery does not end when someone steps out our doors, and so we have programs in place that support our clients for the rest of their lives. Before any client leaves, they meet with a behavioral health team to discuss how to prepare for life after Lumiere, what counseling they still may need, and ways to prevent relapsing. We also offer outpatient rehab and partial hospitalization for those interested in continuing treatment. Each client will also receive the full support of our alumni group that has meetings once a week. Lumiere provides each client the contact information of one of our alumni coordinators who will keep clients involved in the Lumiere community through events and our private Facebook group.
I’ve attempted to get sober in the past. All I can say is that I wish my friends told me about Lumiere earlier. Other treatment programs I have attended do not compare to this place. Admission people are very patient and make the process very easy. The facility itself is impressive: great view overlooking a golf course and is extremely clean. The doctors are very cautious about detoxing and therapists do a good job of really getting to know you. Shout out to Joe and Curt. Thank you for being great. This place makes you feel like a person again!
First hand client experience. I spent the first 20 years of my life in utter chaos and the next 20 using drugs and other things to suppress the pain. At 40, I knew almost nothing about living…truly living…and I had zero desire to live. I agreed to go to Lumiere in a last effort to just maybe learn something. And man did I ever. They held my hand, they cried with me, and they got real and raw with me. It came from their heart and desire to help me understand a new way of life. I'm forever grateful!
Everything about this place was 5-star, the staff, the cooks, absolutely everything was fantastic. They genuinely care about recovery and treat you like a human being. The staff comes from self-experience, so it's not just doctors telling you what's wrong. Their approach is cutting edge to recovery and I believe they should be recognized for their approach, they're doing something great there and I'm truly blessed to have been a part of it!
Lumiere worked for me and after 40 years of alcoholism I am finally confident in my recovery. The counselors were very well educated and experienced. I learned more about my disease and myself than I have all my life. The food was abundant and very good. The rooms were comfortable and I slept well. 3 years ago, I received treatment from another facility and relapsed after 4 months. Now, I have the knowledge and strength to use the rest of my life. Thank you to the entire staff who are all dedicated to helping those of us in need.
I’ve been told I’m a man of few words, a man who’s closed off and someone who buries his feelings. Well, since today marks the 90th-day of my sobriety, it only seems fitting to at least try and share a few thoughts and the first thing that comes to mind is to say “thank you.” Thank you to my wife for being the rock of our family and for always supporting me. Thank you to Lumiere for being nothing short of a miracle-worker. You’ve helped me get my life back and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.
Meet the Staff
Being a Primary Therapist is a passion of mine because I’ve seen the power behind Lumiere’s addiction treatment program and how it can positively change the lives of our clients. Part of my role is to help educate our clients and show them that building healthy relationships can become part of an environment that facilitates change, even beyond our walls here at Lumiere. And what really makes our addiction rehab center unique is we believe our commitment to our clients doesn’t stop when their treatment comes to an end, rather we view this as an opportunity for a new beginning and welcome them to the unity and support of our Alumni family.
Behavioral Health Counselor
An important part of my role at Lumiere is to create a positive and supportive environment for our clients during their recovery process. Seeing first-hand the destruction addiction can cause in the lives of some of my closest family and friends is one of the core reasons I have such a strong desire for helping others make a positive transformation today. Being able to provide hope to the hopeless is something that I’ll never take for granted and Lumiere is the perfect platform to make that possible every single day.

Operating a recently opened, 60-bed facility in West Chester, Ohio, Lumiere provides luxury residential care, outpatient-based programs, and aftercare services. Medically supervised detoxification is also available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Upon admission, clients participate in an initial assessment to determine an appropriate level of care. Clients who require detoxification may be referred to the facility's residential program. Approaching addiction as both a biopsychosocial and spiritual disease, Lumiere's programming involves a combination of the 12-step model of recovery, holistic approaches, and evidence-based treatments, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Upon completion of the initial detoxification, if necessary, residents begin their recovery through individual and group therapy sessions, as well as psychoeducational lectures that cover a broad range of topics, including recovery coping skills, spirituality, communication and boundaries, and more.
Along with counseling and educational classes, residents are supported through various holistic and social opportunities, such as attending on- and off-site Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings, cookouts, exercise classes, art therapy, and guided meditation sessions.
Family involvement is also considered to be a crucial components of the facility's programming. Family groups are typically arranged for Wednesday evenings or Sunday afternoons. Upon completion of the residential program, clinicians may recommend clients utilize the facility's outpatient programs as a step-down continuum of care. The facility offers both a traditional and intensive outpatient program (IOP), depending on the needs of the client.
Program graduates are supported through extensive aftercare services that consist of weekly group meetings and bi-weekly individual therapy sessions. Additionally, alumni groups offer graduates ongoing support and social opportunities.
Led by a clinical director who is a Psy.D, Lumiere Healing Centers employs a team of licensed counselors and therapists who run the individual and group therapy sessions. The facility also employs physicians, a nursing staff, and behavioral health technicians.
