Over the last 40 years, McLeod Addictive Disease Center has grown to become one of the largest providers of treatment to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues in North Carolina. It operates facilities in Gastonia, Hickory, Charlotte, Statesville, and more. Today, the center offers a full continuum of care — residential, outpatient, aftercare, and criminal justice programs, as well as medically monitored detoxification.

According to CiteHealth, this facility in Marion provides methadone maintenance programs and outpatient care.

The Marion facility provides methadone maintenance programs to the public. Dosage hours are from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on the weekends.

Outpatient services for adults are available in the mornings and evenings at three different lengths: 20, 40, or 90 hour programs. Treatment includes individual counseling, gender-specific group counseling, and an introduction to 12-step principles. There is a more expensive intensive outpatient track, as well as specialized programming for DWI offenders.

Aftercare consists of six to eight weeks of group sessions.

McLeod Addictive Disease Center as a whole also provides case management, DWI assessments, a 60-day drug screening/monitoring program, a five-week drug education course, a 10-hour program on soliciting prostitution, and a 12-hour behavioral intervention program that focuses on anger management and conflict resolution skills.

There is currently no information provided on the facility's website or otherwise regarding its treatment staff. The sole alum polled by gave the staff's level of training and experience a rating of three out of five stars.

At time of writing, the only alum polled by left mixed feedback. The client, S.P. gave the facility a five out of five star rating for accommodations and a four out of five star rating for overall treatment effectiveness but chose not to leave ratings for many categories, such as meals and nutrition and connectivity.

When asked about the facility’s strengths, SP wrote “Has helped with my active addiction.” The alum gave high ratings for the facility's cleanliness, and for the staff's level of training and experience.

When asked about its weaknesses, SP wrote “Prices and insurance changes has made it difficult to continue and afford treatment.”

McLeod Addictive Disease Center is in-network with Cigna, Aetna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, and Medicaid and state funding may be utilized for select treatment services. The center provides a comprehensive price list of its services online, but recommends that prospective clients call for more information. For example, the daily rate for methadone treatment costs $12 and the 40-hour outpatient program costs $500.
