Located in Dubuque, Iowa, Mercy Turning Point Treatment Center offers outpatient treatment services for adults and adolescents struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. While the Mercy Turning Point Treatment Center does not offer medical detox or residential treatment, these services are offered by sister programs at the Mercy-Dubuque Hospital.


Mercy Turning Point Treatment Center creates an individualized treatment plan that includes family day programs, court-ordered evaluations, and counseling. The center also offers tracks for adolescents and treatment services in both mornings and evenings.

In addition to the 12-Steps and talk therapy, as of January 2016, Mercy Medical Center also provides patients with Buprenorphine medication assistance for heroin and other opioid misuse disorders.


The treatment team is headed by a board-certified psychiatrist and includes nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and licensed counselors. One loved one polled by rated staff's level of experience and training a perfect five stars.

On Google, one chemical dependency counselor praised the quick turnaround they received after requesting information, and the two Yelp reviewers praised the staff's friendliness and professionalism. However, many Google reviewers complained of the hospital's disorganization and lack of communication. Loved one Stella wrote: "If I could just rate the nurses I would and I would rate the nurses on the third floor who assisted me with five stars, but I have to look at the big picture. It is scary the lack of information the doctors are allowed to provide and still maintain employment." The facility responded to the most recent negative feedback, encouraging the alum to contact the facility for further conversation.
