ABOUT METHODIST HOSPITAL - OUTPATIENT BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
Providing compassionate, quality health care services to “all those in need,” the nonprofit Methodist Hospitals group operates three hospitals - two in Gary and one in Merrillville, Ind. - as well as numerous physician clinics and other facilities in northwestern Indiana. At its Northlake Campus, in central Gary, Methodist Hospital provides outpatient counseling services for adults and teens who are struggling with emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders.
Methodist also offers 28 beds cumulatively for adults and senior adults at its Northlake Campus, making it one of only 21 (6.9 percent) facilities in the state to offer inpatient treatment services.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The Behavioral Health Services department at Methodist aims to treat substance use disorders and provide solutions and relief from a wide range of disorders and conditions such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, rage, and stress. At its core, treatment focuses on fulfilling a client’s emotional, mental, physical, and medication needs and promoting a healthy balance in all areas of life.
Treatment is both individualized and provided in a supportive, caring group environment. As therapy takes place in individual, group, couples', and family settings, clients can expect collaboration with their psychiatrist and time spent providing and receiving feedback from other clients. Nursing and psychiatric staff also work side by side in determining if there are any possible underlying medical issues affecting a client’s attitude and behavior.
Methodist Hospital employs a multidisciplinary team of nurses, psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers. The single individual surveyed by Rehabs.com to date awarded the behavioral health department three out of five stars for its staff's level of training and experience.
