I attended NFA Canterbury in Aug2020 as a 1st time treatment client. NFA saved my life. After 48 years of exhaustion and mental health and substance abuse I found staff and tools that saved my life. I needed the 12 step intense program that NFA offers coupled with my own surrendering to get there but it saved my life. It’s easy to find holes in any experience but I was taught to look inward and today my life is second to none because of the lessons i was taught by the staff at NFA and the tools given to me there on campus and the various sessions (meditations, therapy, step work, other). The food was incredible and the staff I owe my life to - thank you from bottom of my heart Cody, Colleen and the house tech staff

This place hands-down saved my life. From the structure, to the knowledge, to the faith that has been restored in me. I’m alive because this place and everybody associated with it refused to let me quit. NFA—- you all are the real MVP’s. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all, so much. I now have my family, my freedom and my spiritually back. Thank you!! 🙏🏻 -Kaitlin R

The place is the worst! They don’t encourage you to go to group meetings, they badger you! Housing was shabby. Meals, they only serve lunch and dinner. Breakfast is cereal, bagels and frozen eggs. Poor quality. They also tell clients when it’s time to be discharged that the staff felt the client was not ready yet and they should stay longer. Several times. I wasn’t told that I would be starting at the facility then moving down to a house, then I would have to move down again! They treat and talk to their clients like four year olds! Would not recommend this place!

Communication is poor and they offer no service for the familly. They will tell you that they do but they do not. This is a good 12 step program, but if you're dealing with a dual diagnosis and seeking treatment for mental health (ie anxiety, depression, ect) as well, then there are better programs to explore.

I would like to say as far as communication that they do a great job.. But sadly that is not the case.. a staff member called me a liar. I told him what i was told from there staff regarding updates.. And he told me that i was never told that i would get daily updates on my wife's treatment. I had to kick and scream to find out information.. Then he only did it for a short time to basically shut me up.. Then told me i would only get get twice weekly updates. The treatment may be great.. But there communication absolutely sucks. To ad to this review.. If you think that they will provide any type of support to the family. You are totally incorrect.. They may say that they will but its just them blowing hot air to get another client in the door. Piss poor communication leads to mad family members. Not knowing how your loved on is doing helps the family start to heal as well. And the only reason i left one star is because they dont have negative stars.. So i hope someone from NFA reads these.. Its time to improve communication with the families folks..
