Our Master's Camp Philosophy
We place Christ at the helm of everything we do as an organization. From showing program participants extraordinary compassion to carefully preparing delicious meals, God is in all of our motivations. Our parent organization also provides help for those struggling with homelessness as well as hunger in a continuing effort to meet hurting people at their deepest need. Another factor that sets us apart from any other recovery facilities is our cost. Sponsorship cost is reduced greatly by our parent organization which pays over half of the cost for each and every program participant, reducing your expense to just $4,900 for 90 days of in-house care.

Kevin Shelton
Our Master's Camp Director

Brother Kevin Shelton became a Marine & served our country until 1997. He married in 2002. In 2004 he was saved when God showed that he, his wife and kids were lost, and that he was not being the husband and father that he needed to be. He preached at Whitfield County YDC, nursing homes, restaurants, churches, homeless shelters, and also had a radio ministry from 2005-2008. He taught teenage Sunday school classes and worked with youth during this time also.

ABOUT OUR MASTER’S CAMP
Located on 100 acres of land in the Tennessee foothills, Our Master’s Camp is a Christian nonprofit residential rehab center in Pikeville, Tenn., about 45 minutes north of Chattanooga. It provides Christ-centered substance abuse treatment for men. While core treatment is biblically based, the program also integrates addiction counseling and relapse prevention. Detox services are not available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to its website, Our Master’s Camp takes both a clinical and spiritual approach to recovery, with a strong focus on addressing trauma and self-defeating behaviors. The program includes individual counseling, peer support groups, relapse prevention, trauma recovery exercises, and 12-step work. The average treatment length is 90 days, after which clients have the choice to enroll in a Dalton-based sober living program.
A typical day at “camp” begins with showers and room cleaning, followed by a full breakfast. After breakfast, men participate in sermons, Bible study, group therapy, healing-related exercises, substance abuse workbook exercises, counselor-led discussions, and the viewing of inspirational videos. In the afternoons, most clients participate in work therapy activities such as gardening, apple picking and cleaning. Work therapy serves two purposes – men learn valuable skills and become productive members of society. The work also helps keep the rehab running smoothly.
After work, men enjoy free time until dinner and then participate in guest lectures and sermons. Weekends are laid back, and include time off on Saturdays and church on Sundays.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The treatment team includes a certified addiction counselor and a certified clinical supervisor. Many of the staff members are in recovery themselves.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
According to the facility's website, clients live in clean, simple bedrooms which they share with a roommate.
