A nonprofit treatment provider based in W. Va., Prestera Center - Mattie V. Lee offers outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), residential, and transitional living services to treat adults and adolescents with substance abuse and co-occurring conditions. The location also accepts women with small children and offers a specialized intensive outpatient program (IOP) for individuals with co-occurring difficulties. Detox is available on site.

Upon admission to Prestera Center - Mattie V. Lee, clients participate in an initial substance abuse and psychiatric evaluation to help clinicians determine the most appropriate method of treatment. If necessary, clients may enroll in the medically-monitored detox program to minimize the discomfort of withdrawal. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)**, which utilizes *Suboxone*, is also available to those recovering from opioid addiction. Once detox is completed, clients can enroll in the residential or outpatient programs.

Prestera Center - Mattie V. Lee’s treatment approach blends evidence-based treatment approaches with immersion in the 12-step principles. Treatment consists of individual, group, and family therapy supported by educational and sober living skills components. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings are held on site. Medication management and specialized counseling services are available for clients with co-occurring disorders.

The residential program comes in several forms including long-term, short-term, and gender specific options. The programs last 3 to 6 months on average. Each treatment program includes counseling and educational coursework.

The women’s residential program emphasizes family involvement, and women with dependent children are given priority for admission. Programming for women with children may also incorporate parenting classes, and the facility aids with childcare during treatment sessions. The women’s program lasts three months to one year or more, depending on the client’s assessed needs and progress.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is often used as a transitional first step toward leaving the residential program.
It runs using the same methods but in a less structured environment. Prestera Center - Mattie V. Lee also operates gender-specific sober living facilities in the community of Huntington, located 53 miles west of Charleston.
