Principles Recovery Center Philosophy

At Principles Recovery Center we believe in a small community that allows for maximum 1 on 1 clinician time and the most exposure to therapy throughout your time with us. We take pride in our facility only allowing people who genially want to get clean to be a patient. We believe a facilities pride should be in its clinical success rate rather than just its appearance in photos.

Our slogan "It's not what we do, It's who we are" defines our organization as we have been down the same road as you. We are family owned and operated unlike other facilities and we will welcome you or your loved one into our center with open arms.

There's rehab and then there's Principles Recovery Center. We put therapy over everything else: Each of our clinicians has over 20+ years experience in the field of substance abuse, out staff to client trio is 1.2:1, our group sizes do not exceed 10 people(average is 5). We accept most insurances as well as Self Pay Opportunities for those without insurance.

We ask anyone considering to join our family to please see our Facebook reviews which detail the experiences of our former clients:

Principles Recovery Center is a family-owned and -operated addiction rehab facility that provides services out of three South Florida locations. The Davie facility, located about 10 miles west of Fort Lauderdale, offers partial hospitalization programming (PHP) along with supportive housing for men and women struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

A continuum of care is available through intensive and standard outpatient services and aftercare services. Although Principles Recovery Center does not provide on-site detoxification services, clients can be referred to another facility specially selected by Principles prior to more in-depth treatment. Some services are available in Spanish.

The PHP at Principles Recovery Center is focused on relapse prevention, while intensive outpatient programming (IOP) emphasizes transition to life in recovery after treatment. PHP clients participate in 25 hours of treatment each weak, including one-on-one counseling and group therapy sessions, and typically stay at the center throughout the day. IOP care is offered in the morning and at night.

Programming introduces 12-step concepts offered through Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous as well as more explicitly faith-based groups. Meditation, yoga, fishing, and other fitness activities also facilitate recovery.

Among the modalities used at this facility are education about addiction, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Individuals undergoing dual diagnosis treatment also receive medication management services. Family and positive social support group members are encouraged to participate in their loved ones' recovery process; weekly family therapy sessions are available.

The center offers aftercare in the form of vocational training workshops, job placement services, and housing assistance for alumni.

According to information provided to by this facility, staff members each posses 20 years of experience in treating addiction. Principle Recovery Center employs a team of psychiatrists, master's level counselors, social workers, and registered nurses and maintains a staff-to-client ratio of 1:3. The facility's website indicates that most staff members are in recovery themselves.

During PHP treatment, clients may reside at Saving Grace House, the program's housing facility. While emphasizing seclusion and an escape from a client's everyday surroundings, the facility's website describes its setting in comfortable, but not luxurious terms, striving to provide a realistic perspective on recovery. Accommodating up to 20 clients at a time, Saving Grace House offers a homelike, therapeutic environment with upscale furnishings, pleasant décor, spacious common areas, private bedrooms, and full kitchens. The facility's website features photographs of a swimming pool and a variety of South Florida activities, including chartered fishing trips. Residents also have access to a full gym twice per week.

Alumni response to Principles Recovery Center has been unanimously positive. When asked, on a scale from one to five, how likely they would be to recommend the facility to others, all eight alumni polled by selected five out of five stars. They rated the overall effectiveness of treatment a perfect five stars too.

Aspects of treatment that received high ratings included the facility's preparedness to provide quality treatment for co-occurring conditions, opportunities for family participation, and the staff's level of training and experience. Some more moderate ratings were awarded for counseling options and faith-based treatment by a few reviewers, but overall, these categories still received positive ratings.

Accommodations also received perfect ratings, as did ratings for meals and nutrition, exercise and leisure activity, policies regarding phone and internet use, and the facility's cleanliness and upkeep. One reviewer mentioned wanting more frequent gym visits. All but one of eight survey respondents rated the affordability of treatment Principles Recovery Center five stars.

Two loved ones of former alumni provided feedback to to date. Both would highly recommend this facility and felt that staff's level of training and ability to treat co-occurring mental health disorders was excellent.

Loved one D.D. provided more moderate ratings for several aspects of the program, unlike F.P. who awarded five stars for 13 out of 15 metrics measured. D.D. rated family participation, leisure options, connectivity, cleanliness, affordability, and holistic therapy offerings just three stars, but still gave five for treatment effectiveness.

F.P. noted that staff "Really care about their clients and their relapse prevention," and D.D. said that "Incredible clinicians and recovery support team!" were a strength.

Both employees surveyed by to date gave high ratings of four or five out of five stars for all categories. One awarded four stars for counseling options while the other utilized a four-star rating for meals and nutrition. Staff member, G.N. wrote that the strength of the program was its "strong faculty commitment to patient success and healthy recovery." Both characterized the whole staff as committed to the mission of Principles Recovery Center. E.H., however, noted a need for "better housing."

I have my son back. I lost him to an overdose in December of 2016. He was revived and agreed to enter his 4th treatment center. I credit Principles Recovery Center with saving my son. He is on the path to recovery and is an active member of the Principles Alumni Community. This is a first rate facility with a genuine, caring Management, clinical staff, to include their technicians. I highly recommend Principles to care for your loved ones.

Principles is an amazing Treatment Center. I have had this one woman as a therapist before and she is amazing. They have a loving staff, all the groups made me really think about the negative actions I was taking. The COO is also an awesome guy. He has helped out thousands of struggling addicts in South Florida. Principles is a place where I would send a loved one and know they are getting top notch Treatment.

Strengths: People, Program, and Family Atmosphere. I can not even express the gratitude I have for Principles Recovery Center, from the staff who genuinely cares and it's evident to the facility itself. This place has given me a whole new perspective on what it means to be in recovery and life in general. The amount of support and help is always there for the taking. This is not a business, this is a place where the staff takes pride in watching us grow and supporting us each step of the way.
