ABOUT RAPID CITY REGIONAL HOSPITAL – REGIONAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER
Regional Behavioral Health Center (RBHC) is a psychiatric hospital operated by the private, community-based health network of Rapid City Regional Hospital in South Dakota. At RBHC, women, men, and children can receive residential care for mental health and substance use disorders, as well as medication management and diagnostic services on an outpatient basis.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Prior to admission to the facility's residential unit, clients must receive a physical exam and referral from an emergency room. Treatment then follows a bio-psychosocial model, addressing multiple aspects of each individual's conditions and recovery needs.
Staff specializing in chemical dependency create individualized treatment plans, which tend to incorporate ongoing evaluation, individual and group counseling, occupational and recreational therapy, and family sessions. Pastoral care is also available.
Outpatient programming can be utilized as aftercare or as introductory treatment, and clients typically meet with individual doctors at the center or attend group meetings. Medication management and psychiatric diagnostic interviewing are available for individuals of any age.
The hospital employs a multidisciplinary team that is led by board-certified psychiatrists. Other staff members include psychiatric nurses, social workers, and chemical dependency specialists.
