Rock Solid Recovery for Men a Sure Haven Program Philosophy

Distraction free recovery in a nurturing home like setting for men only. There is much more to recovery than Detoxification and Residential Treatment Care. At Rock Solid, we provide a comprehensive approach that includes our Family Program and Continuing Care Curriculum.

Areas of Specialization

  • Residential Treatment
Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.

  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Patients who undergo intensive outpatient treatment continue to live at home and sometimes go to school or work while participating in a highly structured treatment protocol that is focused on ending substance abuse. Programs vary in terms of how much treatment patients receive, how often and for how long. Some facilities design individualized intensive outpatient treatment programs.

Located in sunny, suburban Southern California, Rock Solid Recovery offers medically monitored detox plus residential and outpatient treatment for adult men struggling with substance abuse, sex and love addictions, and dual diagnoses. The programs include Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) phases.

During detoxification, clients address both the substance addiction and mental health conditions, including trauma, depression, and bipolar disorders. Individual and group therapy and 12-step meetings begin during this phase as well.

In residential treatment, clients work with assigned case managers and therapists to put together an individualized treatment plan. All clients participate in individual and group therapy and educational sessions, which cover topics such as relapse prevention, communication skills, relationships, and meditation/relaxation. Residents also attend two off-site 12-step meetings a day. In the family recovery program, loved ones can receive education and schedule individual sessions with the client’s therapist. And for those whose addiction brought them legal troubles, counsel is offered.

The physical component of addiction is treated through nutrition education and access to the gym, group fitness classes, and outdoor activities., including hiking expeditions lasting two to three days.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is offered as step-down care for those graduating from the residential program. It focuses on academics, volunteering, and employment, and uses SMART Recovery and experiential therapies such as art therapy. The next stage of care is an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which is followed by a year’s worth of continuing care programming.

According to the facility’s website, the treatment team includes certified addiction counselors (many of whom are in recovery themselves), culinary experts, independent care practitioners, case managers, and therapists.

According to the facility’s website, the home-style residential facilities are designed to maximize the benefits of communal living, and offer swimming pools, backyards, Internet access, video games, multiple bathrooms, and three meals a day.

At the time of this writing, has received eight reviews from alumni of this facility, of which six were positive and two were negative. Most alumni rated Rock Solid’s treatment effectiveness, accommodations and amenities, and meals and nutrition four or five out of five stars. Only one rated its accommodations and amenities one star, writing that recreational outings were not structured well.

Alum C.H. told that “there are a few staff who care,” but added that those in higher positions were less caring, and that they felt the center was understaffed. Most alumni felt staff were compassionate and the treatment programs worked, with one alum praising the detoxification program.

Of the three reviews submitted to at the time of this writing, one was positive, one was negative, and one was mixed.

Cathy, a mother of a client, told “I couldn’t be happier… I could call his counselor/therapist at any time for support.” But M.B. wrote: “It wasn't supportive when my child had problems and needed more help. They are worried about the financial bottom line as opposed to help and long term recovery.” The last reviewer, L.K., gave the facility’s treatment effectiveness a rating of three out of five stars and noted that it does not concentrate on dual diagnosis.

Two staff members polled by rated Rock Solid with a positive and a mixed review. The positive reviewer rated the facility a perfect five stars in nearly every category, while employee J.G. rated its treatment effectiveness and affordability three stars. J.G. wrote that while the facility offered many amenities and lower level staff were friendly, upper level management “made it unbearable to work there.”

The facility’s website implies that insurance is accepted, but does not give coverage specifics.

This place promises you the world and under staffs, which makes things impossible due to some people not wanting to go places and theres only one staff. So staff has to say we all go or no one goes....this is pretty consistent throughout the program. Focus on recovery takes a seat in your lap with this place. Being strong is the only way to push through with them. There are a few staff who care...they take clients problems to their bosses and it might as well be tossed into the ocean.

While Rock Solid seemed like a great place at first, it wasn't supportive when my child had problems and needed more help. They are worried about the financial bottom line as opposed to help and long term recovery.

I would highly recommend this facility.

Rocksolid recovery works if you want it to. They taught me that there is a better life out there and I took there suggestions and did what they told me. I am currently working the 12 step program and have a sponsor and living life on life's terms and it's amazing thank you rock solid!!!!!!! Cassia house rules yours truly Tommy ny....... .

Omg!! Don't go to Rock Solid! When you first call they convince you that it's the best rehab center on the planet. Nothing could be further from the truth. They promised no out of pocket expenses, that's a lie!! I was told they would pay for my round trip flight, they only paid for my flight there, I paid for the return flight. The food stinks and you're limited on what groceries you can have! You sit around the houses a lot waiting on a class and a lot of the time the classes were cancelled. Must I go on? I'm telling you, don't go there! I was not in network for my insurance and the total was over $80,000 for thirty days! They're money suckers!

My son is still in California. I live in Florida. He is now in sober living and has a job and goes to out-patient therapy. I couldn't be happier. He is not coming home for a while as he needs to understand I will not enable him anymore and he has to become self-sufficient. I could call his counselor/therapist at any time for support.
