ABOUT SHADOW MOUNTAIN HOSPITAL AND ASSESSMENT CENTER
Shadow Mountain Behavioral Health System operates four locations in Tulsa and Kansas, Okla. The hospital is 10 miles southeast of downtown Tulsa and serves children and adolescents between ages four and 17. Services include acute residential care and crisis intervention services, with the primary function of stabling clients so they may safely return home.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment begins with a free assessment. Those in need of acute care regain safety as a primary goal. Clients also help develop a plan for re-entry to their families and communities. While in treatment therapeutic methods like electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) are utilized. Additionally, clients engage in individual and group therapy as well as family counseling and discharge planning.
Care is gender-specific and targets co-occurring mental health disorders and developmental disability disorders like autism spectrum disorder (ASD), reactive attachment disorder, and sexually maladaptive behaviors. Therapeutic foster care and swift adoption services are also available.
According to its website, Shadow Mountain Behavioral Health System employs more than 400 staff members, including physicians and psychiatrists.
