The Ranch At Dove Tree Philosophy

The Ranch at Dove Tree is one of the nation's leaders of collegiate-focused addiction and behavioral health comprehensive treatment with recovery resiliency services.

We offer hope through two separate programs, one for collegiate aged men, women and their families as well as one for other traditional adults by providing individualized, skills-focused treatment for addiction based on evidence based practices combined with the 12-Step foundation model.

We specialize in alcohol and drug addiction with co-occurring issues such as depression, anxiety, disordered eating and trauma. Founded in 2002, we are privately owned and operated and licensed through the Texas Department of State Health Services to ensure high-quality standards are met and exceeded through our comprehensive treatment programs.

Areas of Specialization

  • Holistic Therapy
Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.

  • Medical Detoxification
Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.

ABOUT THE RANCH AT DOVE TREE

The Ranch at Dove Tree, located in Lubbock, Texas, offers a full spectrum of treatment for individuals struggling with substance misuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Founded in 2002, Dove Tree is a privately owned organization with a traditional residential program for adults, as well as a dedicated program for collegiate-aged young adults. The facility also offers on-site detox services and outpatient-based programs.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Dove Tree's detox program generally takes between 24 and 72 hours. The medical component of detox may be supplemented by individual counseling, family counseling, and educational classes. Once stable, clients may transition into primary programming.

Dove Tree utilizes the 12-step model of recovery in conjunction with trauma-informed and evidence-based treatment approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Spirituality groups, relapse prevention training, and experiential therapies, such as equine therapy and outdoors pursuits, are also part of the treatment program.

Residential treatment lasts 30 or 60 days, depending on each client’s level of need. Dove Tree is also one of only 72 treatment facilities (14.2 percent) in Texas to offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP), which clients may undergo instead of residential treatment when appropriate.

After completing one of these programs, clients may enter an intensive outpatient program (IOP) followed by general outpatient treatment and optional sober living facilities. Alumni who have successfully completed treatment will receive a plan for a year’s worth of structured aftercare support.

I stayed at the Ranch at Dove Tree this past June, I cannot say enough positive things about this facility. The staff was caring and phenomenal, and provided access to outside meetings, as well as nightly meetings in house so that you can find a sponsor that meets your needs. The food is amazing and the kitchen staff is always so accommodating. If you are looking for help for yourself, or for a loved one, this is the place to go!

The Ranch is a take your money care for client facility and the Tree House sober facility is no different. Want their money upfront, communication is minimal with those financially responsible. I doubt this will get posted due to the nature of the post but compared to where my son was in recovery at the hands of Dove Tree and where he is now at Chapter House there is no comparison. Oh and by the way, the Ranch has yet to return any of my phone calls in regards to the $10K checked they cashed for the 24hrs my son was in the sober house, much less to check on him and his wellness.

This was 30 days of AA. It's biased on the 12 step program. Addection is a thinking disorder. And none of this program addresses your thinking process.

The Dove Tree was very clean. They had Chiefs on staff. The group discussion were great. They didn't have a full trained Doctors on staff 24 hrs. The Counselors were not on hand at night if you needed them. Lacking in security n They need to provide what is on their litetury. Doctors, Counselors and Security 24 hrs as stated. They need more one on one time with the client.

The support at Dove tree is amazing!! U have to want help for what tour in there for and realize without the steps a dedication you won't get sober. A higher strength and the 12 steps are wonderful and it is a day by day program. I just got my 6 month chip and it's been 6 months and 15 days for me now. With out the support of the people I met in there and IOP I would have no support besides my wonderful husband!, but sometimes you need just a little more than that. Good luck to everyone whom is struggling. I pray for all of you and myself every night and would truly recommend Dove Tree:)

Food, groups and leisure time activities were great. However, the therapeutic sessions and staff diligence need to be improved. The prices I was charged were not comparable to the services rendered and there was no after care options suitable to me also there were no programs other than the twelve step.

Well maintained and we'll run! The staff was caring because a lot were also in recovery themselves! It is in North central Texas and not close to a lot of larger cities. All in all Dove Tree is great facility, they strove to provide me with an environment that I could focus on my recovery and with staff that truly wanted to help me get and stay clean. Many were also recovering addicts and alcoholics. They partnered with Texas Tech university to provide excellent treatment and counseling!

It was an overall great facility; however, they needed better holistic offerings.

This treatment center treated us (parents) in the most unprofessional way imaginable - forming opinions about us without ever having met us, then believing everything our addict child said. They were unwilling to acknowledge their unprofessionalism, saying this was "standard clinical practice." Their actions have made it very difficult for us to establish boundaries and accountability with our child, because he says that Dove Tree agrees with him. A horrible experience and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Don't resist the process. There's a reason for everything they do. Throw caution to the wind. Be vulnerable, totally honest and work hard. It may not feel like it, but days at Dove Tree are a gift and if you want it, you can get your life back. Beautiful grounds, good counselors. Family involvement is considered very important. Great gym, yoga and other various structured exercise. Programs are tailored specifically for each client. Rehab is hard no matter where you are. The first few days are grueling, maybe that could have been improved. I wasn't court ordered, I wanted to turn things around before I experienced losses. I felt like I was being treated like a criminal right at first. However, it passed and I learned why they follow such strict protocols, but still, it made it harder.

Some of the counselors had very narrow of views about religious ideas and would continue to cut off those whom did not agree. Offered family day and family group counseling.

I would highly recommend this facility for anyone that is needing assistance with any addictive behavior. I would use this facility again for my child as well as any other member of my family, if I was able to afford it. This is a very expensive treatment facility.
