ABOUT TWELVE WAY FOUNDATION
Located in Marshall, Texas, Twelve Way Foundation is a drug and alcohol rehab center that provides residential treatment to men struggling with substance use disorder. Founded in 2004, the Twelve Way Foundation is a faith-based nonprofit organization. According to a 2017 SAMHSA survey, 43.4 percent of rehabs in Texas are operated as private nonprofits.
Twelve Way Foundation’s website states that the organization's mission is “to provide a safe, sober environment for men who have a sincere desire to change their lives through a relationship with Christ and a program of recovery.”
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Twelve Way offers both long-term and short-term residential treatment programs. According to a 2017 SAMHSA survey, 25.1 percent of rehabs in Texas offer residential care of any length, 18.8 percent offer short-term residential care (30 days or less), and 21.8 percent offer long-term residential care (30 days or more).
Lasting 30 days, the short-term program includes Bible study, 12-step meetings, community services opportunities, and classes on Christian principles. Once clients finish the short-term program, they may enroll into the long-term program, if necessary.
Clients in Twelve Way’s long-term recovery program live in sober living homes. Designed to help men become productive members of society, the long-term program provides help navigating the criminal justice system, employment assistance, transportation to work, GED tutoring, and daily recovery meetings. A 2017 SAMHSA survey indicates that 37.8 percent of rehabs in Texas provide employment counseling or training for clients.
Residents of the sober living homes much meet the following requirements: attend daily faith-based meetings , participate in recovery classes, maintain a full-time job, follow house guidelines, and **pass random drug tests.
There is currently no information on the center’s website regarding its treatment staff; however, the two alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave Twelve Way Foundation a four- and a perfect five-star rating for its staff’s level of training and experience.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Though information regarding the living arrangements is limited on Twelve Way's website, the donation page indicates that the facility has twin-sized beds and provides amenities such as meals, various toiletries, and on-site laundry.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The two alumni surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided largely positive reviews, both indicating that they would recommend Twelve Way Foundation to others. Additional metrics evaluated include the use of the 12-Step in treatment, the extent to which treatment was faith-based, and the quality of treatment for dual diagnosis. Both alumni polled gave each of these metrics five out of five stars.
The two alumni also gave three- or four-star ratings to the center's connectivity/visitor policy, family participation in treatment, counseling options, affordability, and the cleanliness and maintenance of the building.
Alum R. wrote in a representative review: "Fellowship trainin one on one counciling were great they make sure you are ready financially and spiritually to livea clean and sober life!"
Alumni reviews on secondary review websites were similarly positive. Two alumni on Google gave perfect five-star ratings, while another gave three stars. Two of the alumni left highly positive commentary in which they praised the faith-based nature of the treatment. On the Twelve Way Foundation's unofficial Facebook page, one alum left a five-star rating.
There is currently no information provided on the center’s website regarding the price of treatment. However, Twelve Way Foundation’s website states that all residents are required to seek employment and pay a nominal program fee which includes room and board.
