Though had yet to receive feedback from this facility's former clients as of this writing, its Google page revealed moderate satisfaction with an overall rating of 3.3 out of five stars based on 83 total reviews.[1] These reviews were not exclusively for the Behavioral Health Services department of University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus, and included reviews for other services such as doctor visits and emergency care.

However, several reviewers discussed the care they received in the Behavioral Health Services portion of the hospital. Alum S.N., who gave one star, wrote that she had “nothing positive to say about this place.” She added, “While the doctor...and her social worker/partner were amazing, the staff and nurses were the worst. The facility was filthy, nurses would take too long to tend to patients needs...Please don’t send loved ones here.” Another alum, G.C., supported that viewpoint and gave one star. She wrote, “I can honestly state that I was extremely disappointed in the professionalism of the nurses, security, and janitorial staff of this facility….There was quite a lack of patient compassion...I would not recommend this facility as any form of decent therapy or rehabilitation to anyone."

Ten Yelp reviewers produced a low average rating of just two stars out of five for the hospital campus overall to date.[2] None of the written comments mentioned behavioral health services in particular, though several individuals did not poorly managed discharge procedures.

The sole loved one to provide feedback to to date had mixed feelings about her husband's experience at the center. Providing four stars for treatment effectiveness out of five, she listed "The ability to accept low income patients" as a facility strength. However, she also referenced disorganization and poorly handled discharge procedures, resulting in her husband's relapse.

News of the hospital tended to be overall quite positive, with doctors at this center being named "top" by Baltimore Magazine in 2018. This, too, was in reference to the hospital as a whole, rather than the behavioral health unit in particular, but still indicating a dedication to quality care.

The ability to accept low income patients was a strength and disorganization a weakness. This was to be an inpatient event for 10 days and then outpatient support. No one was notified when my husband was released resulting in an immediate relapse
