ABOUT VALLEY HOPE OF WICHITA

One of 102 private, nonprofit facilities in Kansas (and one of 16 different locations in seven states belonging to the nonprofit organization Valley Hope), Valley Hope of Wichita is an outpatient rehab facility that provides adults and families with comprehensive treatment at both traditional and intensive levels.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The process at Valley Hope of Wichita begins with an assessment and evaluation to determine an effective treatment approach. The facility offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which combines individual and group therapy with drug and alcohol education and introduces clients to the 12-Step philosophy. The IOP runs for six weeks and meets three times per week for a minimum of three hours each session.

The facility’s continuing care program, which meets for a one-hour group session for as long as necessary, addresses relapse prevention and supports a healthy lifestyle. A cornerstone of Valley Hope’s outpatient treatment, family care helps family members overcome feelings of guilt, fear, and resentment.

Group therapy is also offered remotely by way of Valley Hope Telehealth. In this online program, clients can connect with counselors and peers 24/7 and make use of videoconferencing for live group sessions.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

As an organization, Valley Hope boasts a multidisciplinary staff of counselors, physicians, nurses, and psychologists.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The two alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the facility mostly positive feedback. Alum Michelle gave four out of five stars in indicating how strongly she’d recommend the facility, as well as four-star ratings for the staff’s level of training and experience, the level of family participation, and the treatment for co-occurring disorders, amongst other areas. Though she would have preferred if the facility were faith-based, she nonetheless described the program as “good secular treatment.”

J.M., the other alum, celebrated the center’s multidisciplinary treatment approach and educated staff but noted an “inability to effectively handle dual diagnosed patients.”

On the facility’s Facebook page, which the organization can edit, Valley Hope of Wichita has an average rating of 3.5 out of five stars from six individuals to date. “These people had my best interest at heart and guided me into my recovery program today,” alum Kyle wrote in a representative comment.[1]

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

The sole loved one polled by Rehabs.com also gave the facility either four or five stars for these and other categories, describing its staff as “helpful.”

FINANCING

According to its website, Valley Hope is an in-network provider with many private insurance and managed care companies.

My loved one has been in recovery for 25 years w/o relapse after treatment. Family oriented was a strength. Location was a weakness.

The facility had a multidisciplinary treatment approach. Inability to effectively handle dual diagnosed patients. ALL staff work together to support and help clients and family members are well educated of the disease process

They have great services and were very helpful. However, it needed to be cleaner.
