ABOUT VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA - SACRAMENTO

Volunteers of America (VOA) is a private nonprofit facility, which make up about 53 percent of all treatment facilities in California. The center provides substance abuse treatment for low-income individuals. VOA is a Christian organization, but services are provided without regard to religion.

While VOA is a national organization, it operates California treatment locations in Oakland, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Volunteers of America in Sacramento offers services for families, children and youth, veterans, seniors, and more.

The corrections and re-entry programs include the Comprehensive Alcohol and Treatment Center. Adult men referred by law enforcement can enroll in a 90-day substance abuse treatment to transition from incarceration to civilian life.

VOA also offers a program for parenting women that allows women and their children to stay together during treatment.

The center offers veteran's services including case management and homeless prevention. VOA also provides crisis response shelters for homeless families, men and women that include case management, life skills classes, and housing referrals. It is one of the 604 (46.1 percent) of California treatment centers that offer employment counseling.

They can get reunified with their children. They get to bond and learn the proper care it takes to raise their children in a drug free environment.

They took in my family member while she was rehabbing following an accident/broken hip. She didn't have to get on waiting list. Come/go as they please, not required to attend group sessions. My family member is homeless and more or less stayed there to rehab from a physical accident and try to get sober following that. She left after getting better and went back to the streets and drinking.
